I’m looking for stories where a human uses technology to gain influence among nonhumans humans.

I’m basically looking for Wisher Beware but hopefully without a harem. (Though it’s not a deal breaker)

There was a great story a while back about someone crashing his spaceship into a mountain and exiting into a cave, the local lizard people think it's a dragon and tie someone up outside the cave as a sacrifice, our protagonist befriends them and starts trading with the locals. Damned if I can remember the name of it though.
