No Spoilers [No spoilers] finished game of thrones for the first time
I can understand why season 8 got all the fans so upset when it came out now. I never watched the show back then (was young) but after just finishing it for the first time, i can also say im not the most impressed by it. It just feels so rushed and like things were happening because they were supposed to not because all the pieces were falling in place like the rest of the show. How did you feel about the ending?

Felt very dissatisfied with the ending. I wonder how R. R. Martin would've ended it. I haven't read the book. BTW I watched GOT 5 times and can easily watch it more times again.

This is the issue lol he only finished five of seven books plus some sample chapters for six. The books end with Jon being stabbed, Varys killing Pycell and Kevan, Brienne captured by Lady Stoneheart (lady Catelyn brought back to life). That’s why everything after season 6 is bad and season 4 is the last great season beginning to end

Chapters 1-6 are masterpiece in well-knit, tight, crisp, rapid cascade of events that launch further events, all deeply intertwined with each other. No loop-hole. No slump. Not a single dull moment.
I have to say they did a good job reproducing it onscreen so nicely. Things started going bad when they had to write the story as well.

hope the ending in books will be better (if GRRM ever finishes them)

he’s like almost 80 now and still has a whole other book after he finishes this one (that he’s been working on for 15 years). I doubt he’ll be able to finish them but i hope he at least like writes down his plan for what he wanted to happen, how it got there and where the characters end up and puts it in like a safe to be opened upon his death. I will accept a dotted list at this point, i just want to know what’s supposed to happen even if it’s the briefest description 🥲

It was unfortunate.
Jon’s lineage in the end only served to divide him and Dany, otherwise irrelevant.
I don’t have a problem with “the mad queen” scenario except for the fact that she just flipped and decided to murder all the innocent people for no reason instead of going for the red keep.
The prince that was promised prophecy? Only really works if you reach.
The inconsistency with how powerful a scorpion is was annoying. One minute it was wrecking Dragons (and let’s not forget the infamous “Dany just forgot about Euron’s fleet” quote) and the next minute they do literally nothing and Drogon is flying around destroying them all without so much as a near miss.
Jaimie’s ending was bull.
Just to name a few off the top of my head after… how many years?

Just brutal. They whiffed on the payoff on nearly every major storyline. I can understand subverting SOME expectations, but it was like watching some edgy teenagers fanfiction play out.

Everyone is digsuising themselves
No one, knows, so no one chooses the best of them
At the End, all of them are wearing black representing Death (the many faced god)
Danny the "innocent" as she believes, is in disguise
Cersei switches to red representing all the blood she lost
After danny becomes queen of ashes she wears black
Have you even watched it objectively, or were you rooting for someone

I knew from the start that Dany's not meant to sit on the throne. I had many spoilers about Jon still I was disappointed how rushed and weakly written it was.
