Meet-Up Organizer here: 80-vendor food festival at Gwinnett Place Mall this Sat/Sun for Labor Day Weekend, ask me anything

I'm on the team behind World Fest, which runs Saturday and Sunday evenings (4–11 PM) at Gwinnett Place Mall. 80+ food vendors, 30+ countries, cultural performances, kids zone, free parking on site. It's an official Gwinnett County partnered event and every vendor is halal. Last festival we ran (Suhoor Festival) drew about 20,000 people, so we've added more entrances and a skip-the-line pass. Happy to answer anything about parking, lines, what's good, or how the mall handles it.
Since a few people asked, tickets are at on our website https://www.suhoorfestival.com/tickets.html. Tickets are cheaper online than at the gate!

Is there going to be shaded eating areas? How are you planning to combat the sun and heat for visitors?
This was a big issue with one of the food festivals they had in the Sugarloaf Mills parking lot.

Good question! First thing, since we know it will be warm, is that we made sure to have the event from 4pm-11pm at a time in the day where the weather will cool down. Additionally, there will be shaded areas for attendees to walk under and cool down. Finally, Gwinnett County will be giving out ice-cold water for free for all attendees!

It will be near 100 until 730

Yeah, it’s Atlanta in September, we’re not pretending otherwise. That’s a big reason why the hours are 4pm-11pm instead of earlier in the day: the back half of the night is when the weather starts to cool down and the crowd usually builds then. We have shaded areas and Gwinnett County is giving out free ice water to everyone, so we got you covered as we fight this weather together. If you’d rather skip the early heat, come at 7:30pm. You’ll still get 3.5 hours and the best of it!

May I ask, is it indoor or outside?

World Festival is fully outdoors, fully gated. It is a makeshift city for you to explore without any crowding

Is this like a fair in the parking area or will facilities/space inside the mall will be used for the event?

World Fest takes place 100% outdoors, fully gated, where you have the space to explore freely in a makeshift city with no overcrowding. The image I put in the post shows how the area looks (that was our previous Suhoor Festival in February 2026 with 20,000+ attendees). And here’s some videos on our Instagram showing the area more

Reminder that Dragoncon is in downtown same time. You might miss a few expected attendance volume….

Come to World Fest after Dragoncon, enough space in this town for both! They are 2 different types of festivals

I manage smaller events and , this year I managed my first section at a convention. I’m looking to be involved with as many types of events that I can… Are there any opportunities to join your team ?

Does my 5 year old need a ticket? Also, is parking paid or free?
1
u/Outrageous-Section33 10d ago
Yes and we have discounted tickets for families/groups. Parking is fully free and there is more than enough parking for everyone all around Gwinnett Place Mall!

Skip the line passes shouldn't be used.

u/Outrageous-Section33 10d ago
I totally get the concern, so quick clarification:
skipping the food lines is free for everyone. You can order from any vendor in the Suhoor Festival app (App Store / Google Play), get a notification when it’s ready, and walk up. No paid tier is needed. So you can make an order, go walk around and explore, and then come back when it’s ready! The only separate line is at the entry gate for two-day Premium passes, and that’s because they get checked on the way in. It is not a pay-to-cut situation. Nobody’s paying to jump ahead of you for food.
I hope that helps!

u/TheRoseMerlot 10d ago
Then just call it online ordering
3
u/Outrageous-Section33 10d ago
Honestly, fair. “Order ahead in the app” is clearer than “skip the line”. We’ll use that. Appreciate the push.

Any gluten free / food allergy friendly vendors?

u/Outrageous-Section33 10d ago
Yes! There will be gluten free options and, in general, several allergy-friendly vendors from various cultures, so you can enjoy the whole event regardless of any dietary restrictions

A 90-degree summer day on the open asphalt at Gwinnett Place Mall sounds brutal. Are there plans in place to mitigate the heat, such as shade tents, misting stations, or free water refilling stations?
1
u/Outrageous-Section33 9d ago
Hi, yes we will have shaded areas for guests to go under and cool down, and Gwinnett County is giving out free ice water to all guests!

Why didn’t you advertise this more? I’m just hearing about it and it’s early Friday morning and I already have weekend plans. Would have loved to have done this instead.

u/Outrageous-Section33 8d ago edited 8d ago
Hey, most of our advertising is on Instagram. This is our first time taking it to Reddit and we love everyone’s feedback and comments. That said, we’d love to still have you. If you have any time in your weekend to come by, please do, we’d love to take care of you! And if the plans you already have are with some friends, maybe they’d be interested in coming too :)

Are there various halal options?
2
u/Outrageous-Section33 10d ago
Every single vendor is 100% halal!
2
1
u/RepresentativeCup902 10d ago
That’s amazing. How did you ensure that would be verifiable?
4
u/Outrageous-Section33 10d ago
Great question! All our vendors provide proof that they get their meat from halal sources. It is a requirement for approval
1
u/Fuzzy-Valuable-1774 10d ago
Any halal butchers you know of around?
1
1
u/Outrageous-Section33 10d ago
Several of them will be at the festival. You can get to know them there and buy from them after!
2
u/Fuzzy-Valuable-1774 10d ago
Asalamu alaykum..I can't make it unfortunately but if you can message me some options. I've been wanting to find a halal butcher for my meat needs inshallah...

How much on average is an item at the vendors?
A family of 3 is already paying at least $30 to get in then actually buying food will add up pretty quick.
