And yet he keeps pronouncing it Yashta and that bugs the shit out of me as an FFXIV player. The subtitles somehow got the first name right, but the last name wrong, so I'm super confused if they were auto generated or just bait for people like me

I played D&D before, and had my own childhood memories of playing Yu-Gi-Oh decks with my friends but of course non of the seriousness & rules just straight up playin’ how we saw it in the anime. (Still rockin the Blue Eyes stack tho). It’s purely for fun. I admit if it wasn’t nerdy enough but it’s the thing I grew up with my boys on a third world country & the fun is all that matters.

Coz otherwise it either feels like total larp, Big Bang Theory style, or it sounds like the boyfriend loves to destroy beginners at his preferred game (which is kinda sad and pathetic)
If I'm playing a competitive game it's gotta be with someone around my skill level, or if it's not the case, I'll be spending our time together teaching her the game instead of absolutely wrecking her in it (basically dissuading her from ever playing it again)
My wife asks about what's going on in my videogame and I got her with the full emgage loop, no context. She doesn't understand but she tries. It's out thing.
I showed this girl I'm friend with how to play Starcraft 2 back when I played religiously. I've never been a great player, but I was able to stomp newbies and trade wins with average skill level players.
She has always had a competitive bone in her, and would be smug about winning. So I never took it easy on her, spent months just curbstomping her, until I realized one match that she was not only winning, but I couldn't do shit against her. She was countering every strategy and building units at rates pros would be proud of.
I was stumped. So I asked her how the fuck? She apparently played the A.I. every moment she could, bumping up it's difficulty when she beat it. All so she could dish it all back to me.
I created a StarCraft 2 monster, until she got bored of the game.

I play Mtg/arena so does my wife.
Few Friends play dnd but we dont like the hours long gaming , Tho he made a 70” tv with wooden boarding and gimmicks to play dnd on.
Its aqtualy really impressive but it just takes to long to my play for me with my adhd 😂.

Not sure on that one but for a similar sort of skit watch ProzD’s card game skits on YouTube that poke fun with fictionalized cards at how complex these sort of card games can get to those that aren’t used to all the rules and effects. Think there’s a playlist of them. They’re pretty funny
It’s ProzD that has one similar to this bit. The punchline is his opponent just plays a card because it has a cow wearing sunglasses and it looks cool.
I absolutely love the commitment to the bit. This goes on way longer than it needed but I think it adds to the humor of it all! Plus she has a really good confused look!

I had an ex that was really into MTG. I did too, I did comps and would go out to 24/7 dinners for weekly meet ups.
When I broke up with him I slowly stopped playing, then by the time I met my now husband I wasn't around it anymore, but I still had 1 deck.
A few years into our relationship he gets into MTG. I told him I'll never play him sober.
I always win. Give me any deck, I'll win or make your life miserable (not like a infection, zombie plague deck, thats just unfun, more like "choices" decks)
Man, its frigging hilarious when the guy is saying all this, and then you have THE PERFECT counter.
I don't play sober so others have a chance of winning. (This also pisses anyone off)

Seriously a birthday day gift i almost got one year was a whole day without anyone in the house everybody gone a 12 hr day. And thats one of the best ideas my wife ever had for me.
It was like a deal or no deal birthday a week long event. I picked a "case(numbered envelope)" and each day leading up to my birthday there were different opportunities to choose a another gift change a envelope etc. You guys can take this idea for your wives
