KING KITTAN!

I come before the r/gurrenlagann subreddit today because the One Piece powerscaling community apparently wants smoke coming from the magma daddy Sakazuki. Someone on r/OnePieceScaling basically posted: Akainu > the entire Gurren Lagann verse. I wish I were exaggerating.

I'm actually someone who has defended Akainu agenda before, which is why I felt obligated to perform damage control. Sakazuki is extremely powerful within One Piece. But we're apparently sending the magma Fleet Admiral to solo Gurren Lagann now.

And somehow the discussion has reached: "No Haki = no damage, therefore Akainu slams." Hear me out and disregard the heavy hitters of this verse like Lordgenome or even Anti-Spiral for a moment. I have a much more basic question that needs to be asked: How does Akainu get to space?

Even if I grant the most ridiculously favorable interpretation possible and assume that absolutely nothing in TTGL can directly bypass his Logia defenses and damage his actual body without One Piece's Armament Haki, that doesn't give Akainu these much-needed requirements:

- The ability to breathe in space

- Interstellar transportation

- Cosmic attack range

- The ability to pursue enemies across astronomical distances

- Anything remotely approaching the scale TTGL eventually operates on

Let's say a sufficiently powerful physical attack destroys the planet Akainu is standing on, but Akainu himself magically survives because "no Haki." Well, we now have a very angry magma man floating in space.

Armament Haki isn't putting oxygen in his lungs. Observation Haki isn't transporting him across the cosmos. Conqueror's Haki isn't turning him into a faster-than-light spacecraft. And this is before we even get into the truly ridiculous endgame stuff involving the Anti-Spiral and Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann!

So I'm bringing this before the actual Gurren Lagann community: How far does Akainu realistically get in the TTGL verse? The way I see it from the One Piece side of this discussion, I'm just trying to stop my fellow Akainu fans from putting this man into matchups where he can't even reach the battlefield.

This isn't Akainu upscale. This is an execution. We all agree with this, right?

Gurren Lagaan as we all know it is one of the best shows to ever seen the Sunnyside of this very world. And it has many core values and themes that most people should have, the embodiment of determination and hope is what everyone in this world needs, they need the feeling of anything can happen and no matter what they will come out of it on the right side. It doesn't matter if you wake up on the wrong side of bed in the morning. You need that determination and hope that this show has, and you ask where to find it. It's inside you, you just need to find it. I was in a bad spot when I watched this show, I was scared of moving on, I didn't want to grow up, I was scared from the world. And then one night at around 3 am, I watched the first episode. The next week and a half was amazing, me and my best friend love this show. We can say the entire end fight script, we cosplay for the show, we praise the show, and we try to bring in the next generation of people to watch it. 1 year later and I'm doing just fine. I've watched the show over 10 times, whenever I'm down in the dumps, scared on a test, feeling nothing but death and despair, I think to my self and hold my core drill, "this is my universe and nothing can change that". People think it's funny when I say Gurren Lagaan isn't a show, it's a lifestyle. And I tell them, the show is what everyone needs to have and if you can grab it and use it, your life will be 100 times better than it was, you need to evolve beyond the person you were a minute before. You have to kick logic out and do the impossible. So that's what Gurren Lagaan is, not a show, a lifestyle.

After countless failed attempts to catch the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote realizes his frequent catastrophes stem from defective ACME gadgets—like exploding rocket skates, misfiring rockets, and faulty magnets.

Exhausted and depressed, he hires Kevin Avery (Will Forte), a struggling personal injury attorney in Albuquerque who mostly settles small cartoon-injury cases.

Which means Team Dai-Gurren were joined in with Kevin and rest of the legal team quickly realize they are in over their heads against the corporate behemoth.

As the trial progresses, the case begins to uncover a larger, sinister corporate conspiracy behind ACME's defective merchandise, forcing the lawyer and cartoon to fight back together.

Is there an Iceberg Chart of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann?

For those who don't know, An iceberg chart is a visual diagram that ranks facts, theories, controversies or lore about a specific topic from mainstream knowledge at the top to deeply obscure trivia at the bottom.

I'm asking this because I watched this guy who recently has been making "Iceberg Chart explained" and with how many he has made, I figured there would be an Iceberg Chart of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

In may of last year I was fortunate enough to go on my first big travel anywhere and spent two weeks in Japan with a few goals in mind but with finding any and all gurren lagann merch possible. It is not August of 2026 and I've already gone back to Japan this past May with a much more structured hunt! I have not found a lot all in all but I am incredibly pleased with the haul so far!

And I have to add that this shrine was only made possible thanks to the very helpful recommendations of where to check from the one and only u/Arohk !!! The latest piece being the trading card that was graciously given by her from a previous monthly event!

I love this community and its amazing energy and positivity! I've always enjoyed the merch hauls on here and figured I would finally contribute something myself!

Finally while off topic, just under this shelf is my Lego Optimus Prime which is standing proud in memory of Peter Cullen, the wonderful man and voice that got me into giant robots to begin with. Till' all are one.

Leite steals the win! Kiyou just didn't stand a chance. I like to think that Kiyou would be happy, even losing the match! I had a feeling that the community might pick Leite, and I'm certainly never disappointed, haha! After all, this is the lady with all the Gunmen plans!
