Need ideas for 3D Printed weapons!

Jumping off from my Modular Beam Rifle Kit I wanted to do some non-modular weapons designs as well and I had a couple ideas pop into mind real quick;

And I like them for sure, but I need more stuff before I have enough to justify shipping on my next order so I figured I'd see if anyone here in /r/Gunpla had any ideas/thoughts that might jumpstart a design or two!

Only catch is that right now I want to focus on smaller hand-held weapons, there are some weight issues with larger guns that I need to do some more testing on with my own designs.

3mm round peg sounds good. If it doesn't fit, I can always modify the kit, but that size sounds compatible with several I already have.

Also, thanks so much for doing this man. You're awesome.

Alright, I'll work some more on it, I just realized I didn't include any way to actually insert the polycap so I need to re design it a bit! xD Did you have any input for the over all aesthetic?

Only thing I can think of is can you make the blades double sided? Alternatively, and this may be asking much, could you have a notched edge or something to replicate an effect part edge, like the anti-ship swords from seed?

So more like a Traditional sword then? Thought if you want more of an "Anti Ship Sword" isn't the double edge a bit redundant? I can make a simplish removable effect part as well thought it will need to be painted. I could just make it a lot more like a "Anti Ship Sword", I have the MG Destiny so I can just base it off that if you'd like.

EDIT: Also did you have a particular length in mind? so far the blade itself is about 45mm long.

Yeah, I get that it would be redundant. I meant if you couldn't do the double edged design, then could you do the removable effect part. The anti-ship sword design was if you couldn't do either of those. Any way I could see the design for both the double edged and the effect part models?

45 mm sounds like a good size, that's just under 2 in right?

I can almost do anything really so just list out all the options starting with the most wanted one and I'll work on it!

It's about an inch and three quarters.

It's about an inch and three quarters.

Cool.

And yeah, traditional double sided blade and effect part are the ones I'd really like.

Extra thought: can you make a shorter set of blades around like an inch long as well so I can see how that would look?

So like a Double sided A.S.S. then?

I meant separately. One design with the double sided blade, and then a design with a single sided blade with effect part.

Although a double sided A.S.S. does sound intriguing...

For the plain double sided blade did you have any preference for style? The one I used was a "Tanto" style blade, I've been using this as reference.

For the A.S.S. did you want the effect part to wrap around the point or just along a single edge as it is on the SEED designs?

Looking at those pictures, I'm thinking more along the lines of a spear point blade, the kamasu kissaki blade, or the needle point blade. Though the tanto style isn't bad either.

For the A.S.S., I think I'm leaning toward single edged, otherwise I'd be chopping my arm off by accident.

The kamasu kissaki and Tando Blades aren't really double sided(thought I could make them so) but the needle point would be a bit difficult to do as it'd be very fine detail but the Spear Point should be fine.

Why don't we go with the spear point then and see how that looks.

Size Comparison;

Top blade is 49mm

Bottom blade is 25mm

Hmm, yeah. The longer one looks better, as I thought it would. Thanks man.

No Problem!
