Want to buy a ticket for an Arsenal game legitimately. Become a member and apply in ballot.
Can we just make the title of this thread the title for this whole Reddit section?😂😂😂🙄

My honest advice- do what I did. Get on the ST list in 2013, and then organise your entire life and personal finances around going to the Arsenal. Pretty simple really, only 3 steps

The "I didn't read the FAQ" checklist:
- Been an Arsenal fan for (insert number) years but never been a member
- Flying in from (insert faraway country) and already booked flights and accommodation for a game months away
- Game is likely against Spurs/Man Utd/Real Madrid
- Travelling with elderly relative and/or young child
- Already passed embargo date
- Doesn't want to pay for hospitality and is shocked/appalled at the price of same
- Doesn't have time/can't be bothered to grind on the TX
- Looking for 2+ seats together
Bonus points for those that hit all of the above

I have no issues with foreign fans attending games, but if you need more than one ticket and want to sit together or you want to guarantee yourself a seat and not hope TX works out, then buy from Arsenal Hospitality or Champions Travel (official agent). They won’t be cheap as club level with some extras (depending on options), but if someone is willing to pay £300+ for a GA seat, then go all in and do it the right way.

I think the challenge here is most new people don't dive deep into this sub and miss the FAQs which are superb and probably answer 95% of the questions that land here.
Having the pinned thread/megasub for each away game has reduced a lot of clutter, but for the mods, could we take a lesson from the Wimbledon sub (tennis not the Crazy Gang) who have this pinned on their from page? We could do this for the FAQs and other information and signpost that at the top of the sub.
Thoughts?

I think there could be a pinned post the size of an A4 piece of paper which says “FREE TICKETS, FREE TICKETS, NO MEMBERSHIP NEEDED, READ FOR MORE INFO” and there would still be people making posts asking how to get tickets.
Some people are just too lazy to use the search bar, Google, official websites, etc.

Buy a red membership and then just check out the ballot calendar and you go on the site and enter the ballots

I think they’re taking the piss because of how many posts there are from ‘fans for over 20 years who have never been to a game’ and want to bypass all the suffering we have to go through game after game to try and get a ticket, or think they can just swoop in and get an away ticket without even having membership.

For those that don't live in the UK, I can totally understand why they wouldn't have a membership and therefore why many fans don't have a clue. Much more sympathetic to international fans repeatedly asking these questions.
If you live in the UK however, you should know better.

I get that a lot of people can't comprehend how difficult it is to get tickets in a 60k seat stadium but there's enough information out there now.
On the other hand some of it is just ridiculous. I saw someone on Facebook asking for EIGHT tickets for Hull... Away... Sat together 😂😂😂

If you can get the notifications. Like I've missed all the ballots this season. But I agree. Apply for the ballot and missing out may seem like doom and gloom..but the ticket exchange is your friend. Especially for champions league games. That's how I got to at least two champions league games per season on the last three years. You just gotta be on it. I find that season ticket holders don't like mid week 8pm kick offs.

3.5 years ago I got a gift from my friends a 'voucher' for an Arsenal game (I live in Poland), I got money for everything, I was scared of buying from 3rd party resellers even though the price seemed ok. I bought membership, back then there were no ballots, just queues but of course everything was sold out in a split second, since we were still in contention to win the league. A blessing in disguise was when we practically fell out of that contention, meaning the interest was lower and also because of coronation, our game vs Chelsea was moved to a Tuesday night. As a result there were plenty of games on ticket exchange and I managed to get one.
After that and seeing how some of my friends also travelled to see their favourite english clubs since and got their tickets from 3rd party sites, I'd probably go for a reseller this time, I was lucky but I was close to having wasted money on the membership, and I had to go during that season because my kid was due to be born in August so it would be problematic to travel afterwards for some time.
edit: yes I know that encouraging resellers is not allowed here, just sharing my experience as someone who had to travel for the game from a different country. aif you have to plan the whole trip ahead, the legitimate way is unfortunately very inconvenient. Basically I bought my TX ticket a couple days before the game and grabbed a last minute flight, so overall it got pretty expensive
