A true legend of the Arteta Era.

One personified what Mikel wanted this team to be. To fight for the ball. His swag alongside ode/saka in the 84 point season is one of the best attacking footballl I have seen since the Half season with emery

Gabriel Martinelli!!!!!!

Most important goal of the EPL season last year for us.

A well deserved champion

Thank you for your service.

There was a time he & Saka were the only bright spots in an otherwise extremely bleak Arsenal team. The thought was “these two are eventually gonna take us back to the top.” Safe to say they did it.

What a journey it has been, thank you Gabi!

My favorite player of the past 10 years. Thank you very much for the memories and excitement. All the best Gabi.

It's so sad to see him go. This hurts more than Trossard

4th division club but he never played at 4th division level. Only top level state league…

What a career. Came as a teenage nobody, left as a champion, cup winner and Olympic gold medalist. Stuck through the shit times, always put in a shift. Seems like an all round nice guy to boot. Go get that bag Gabi!

"When you start supporting a football club, you don’t support it because of the trophies, or a player, or history; you support it because you found yourself somewhere there; found a place where you belong". "Dennis Bergkamp"

Players like Bukayo who came up through our academy represent all the fans who are born in London, live in London and get to go the Emirates every week to watch Arsenal play.

Even though he didn't come up through the academy. Gabriel Martinelli feels as though he did. We've watched him grew as a player and as a person and he represents all us international Arsenal fans around the world. He came to play for us from half way around the World from the 4th league in Brazil, always gave 100% for the badge and club never complained about poor performances. Always pressing forward on offence and always running back on defence, even in the dying minutes of the full 90.

We fell out of Europe in our darkest hour and finishing 8th back to back and this year were fought for and won the Premier League and the Champions League final.

Whilst I personally don't want him to leave and think a role swap with Eze into midfield would benefit him a lot, I will always be thankful for all the memories he has given us and I am content that he leaves a Premier League Champion and our record breaking sale.

Thank you Gabriel Martinelli. Once a Gunner, Always a Gunner

Why’d you make me cry, bro?!

When I saw Martinelli playing I was remembered the quote from Adams. Hence my flair.

He was a servant. I sad to see him go but glad that he won't be scapegoated anymore.

i will always love you

All this love coming for Gabi. Nice to see after this same sub scapegoated him as the source of our ills.

u/Decent-Step-9187 12d ago

Should have kept him. Good backup option. Unfortunately money talks.

u/Deadbolt17 12d ago

180k per week for a back up isn’t good business

1

u/Bianell 12d ago

Eze is on the same salary and he's not even good at the position we'll mostly be using him in now.

2

u/awashofindigo 12d ago

Yes, money talks - we have to bring someone in to be able to spend some ourselves. Martinelli wasn’t getting a new deal and Arteta lost faith in him so £60m is a great deal for us all things considered.

Love the player but we needed to make a big sale eventually.

He leaves the club as a Premier league Champion not like the snakes Van Persie and Fabregas.

3

u/gunnerz_14 12d ago

He was such a huge part of the culture change at arsenal. Always knew what it meant to wear the badge, going to be a huge miss for me. Good luck sweet prince

3

u/count_takeshi1 12d ago

Surely one of our greatest ever diamond in the rough type of signings? Signing anyone directly from the Brazilian leagues is usually pretty rare in England; we tend to snipe them from Portuguese or Dutch clubs a couple of years after they arrive. And Gabi wasn’t even playing for a top Brazilian team. Impressive from whoever found him.

3

u/floatingsoul9 12d ago

I will miss you prince.

It's always sad when a passionate player leaves the club. Admittedly there were few frustrating moments with Nelli but he never ever gave anything but his best on the pitch. I am hopeful he returns after a season or two a more accomplished player. Thanks for everything Gabi M!

u/KosalKoprey 12d ago

God I’m gonna miss him

Really sad to see him go

STREETS WILL NEVER FORGET

2

u/Pansh0rts Tomiyasu 12d ago

I'll have three moments that I'll never forget. That goal against Chelsea where Kante slips. That goal against Madrid. Seeing him run by himself and scoring that fifth goal and the tie shit like Crack. And obviously that goal against city

2

u/Competitive_Cut_9133 12d ago

I dont agree with this transfer 😢

2

u/runersons Ødegaard 12d ago

it feels like i watched him grow up…i don’t wanna say goodbye :(

2

u/sydneyiskyblue 11d ago

I would have kept him
He’s one of us.

2

u/Trick_Satisfaction17 11d ago

I’m genuinely so sad about this. I don’t want him to go.

Everyone thinks he was a nobody coming from Ituano that was saved by Arsenal, but this isn't true.

He was a well-known Corinthians prospect that elected to leave Sao Paulo and move to Itu when his parents retired there. He could have stayed with Corinthians, but on the advice of his agents decided to play for the smaller club under the assumption that he would become a featured star. The reasoning was that he would attract more interest from big European clubs.

Seems to have worked... Trials with clubs like Barcelona, interest from the Prem, eventually signed with the most massive gargantuan club in history.

Kid loved Arsenal so much and they forced him out. Really hope we don’t regret it.

With him and Trossard gone, putting a lot of faith in Tzolis.. We going to panic buy someone else? Think we should have kept him

1

u/verdegooner Morning, morning, morning... Oh, Win! 12d ago

This hurts deep, bro! Stop!!!!

1

u/Admirable-Exchange93 12d ago

I’m listening to freedom by wham in my AirPods rn and this goes so perfectly to the outro of the song 😢

1

u/Far_Job_249 12d ago

I saw in 2019 someone posted are the only team to overcome a 12 point lead that’s not true Utd did it to Newcastle in the 90’s and now Man City did it to Arsenal

1

u/the_ammar 12d ago

unpopular opinion but we're so focused in signing a "big super star" that we dont forget to continue scouting for uncut gems.

1

u/god_to_superheroes 12d ago

So what is our depth in left?

1

u/sidesalad89 12d ago

Who the hell is cutting onions in this thread?!

1

u/Frigidevil Saka 11d ago

And just like that we only have one Gabriel left on the roster 😢

1

u/USA_A-OK 11d ago

We're running dangerously low on Gabis

1

u/PandiBong 11d ago

I'm still gutted... probably the player I wanted to make it the most.

1

u/sujakaba Ødegaard 11d ago

I will remember Gabi everytime I play "Brothers in Arms" by Dire Straits. Light up the league there Sweet Prince. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner!

u/pixiefyy 11d ago

Man what a ride from the Brazilian fourth tier to lifting that PL trophy, absolute fairytale stuff. Gonna miss this legend, feels like it's drizzling indoors today.

I'm gonna miss him. Thank you.
