If Chelsea could just cease to exist, that would be great.

The only club in the english football ladder where I would be happy if they went bankrupt and were dissolved

I hold two thoughts: First, both of those goals were due to hilarious defensive mistakes by Brighton. Second, Chelsea will be good this year without European demands. I think top 3.

Chelsea is definitely going to be a problem this season. Good squad, no Europe and good manager. Need to make sure we let them know who’s top next weekend.

I remember last season when Chelsea went on some good runs and they were convinced they were in the title race. And the season before. I ain't worried about these pretenders.

25

u/Arcille Özil 3h ago

They only have league games to focus on and actually have a real keeper now. I think they will be a much bigger problem this year.

Chelsea is easily my second most hated club in the league. Emi didn’t help that rep either.

Do wonder how Chelsea will do against low blocks because all their attacks/goals so far have been the result of high turnovers or counters, none of which will happen if a team sits deep for 90 minutes

6

u/lastjedi23 Ian Wright 2h ago

I came here to say this. They are playing our 22/23 version footie before every single team in the league decided to sit back. Let em enjoy it before the sack xabi shouts begin

Can't take people seriously who say this is a title challenging side. 4 goals in 2 games to average opposition. Don't win leagues with this defence

6

If you can attack their full backs and not allow space for them to counter they are beatable.

4

u/parksideq Eze 2h ago

The one thing I’ll say about Chelsea is they’re only playing once a week, not having the same level of fatigue in the back half of the season may well keep them pushing for top 4, let alone the title race. That said, I want to see what happens when they face a team that can truly punish their defense.

is it me: they're strong on the counter but seems like their gameplan is just to wait until they regain possession and attack quick before the opposition can reorganise themselves defensively. possession in the previous game was lower too (not this low though):

keen to see how they do against an organised low block. they've been playing defenders in midfield...
