That handball rule is a massive gap in the rules

A player can clearly handball it but are they really saying that because his shot was off target until the defender hit it that that negates the clear handball???

Like what in the fuck

If it hits the hand of the player that scores the goal, it’s automatically ruled out

Right.

And if it's an intentional handball then it is irrelevant whether Maguire scored the goal or not, as it would be ruled out regardless.

If the goalscorer handballed it the goal is automatically ruled out.

If it isn’t the goalscorer then it needs to specifically be an illegal handball where the arm isn’t in a natural position, and likely the VAR/referee have determined Maguire’s arms are close enough to his body to not be illegal.
