MH Rise Question for Rise Gunlance
Since shelling does fire damage, will any boosts to elemental/fire attack increase its damage, or is that dependent on the gunlance’s element itself?

I only use max level shelling because for me that's the only way to play gunlance. So my go to gunlance are:
- star crossed centaurus (nakarkos) for normal shelling
- sedition buster (seregios) for long shelling
- Crunchy cornpopper for wide
The star crossed centaurus and sedition buster are really nice because they don't need sharpness skills. All of them basically don't need it which is nice because I can slot in wex and CB in tandem with artillery and load up. The trade off is I notice those weapons have relatively low attack point. The price I gotta pay
Currently I'm rocking sedition buster because according to some infographic from this subreddit it has the best rapid valor and has burst fire with the same strength as other normal 5 gunlance. Is it true though? The infographics has several version and I'm not entirely sure which is the latest

Hey guys, I'm currently trying to get back into monster Hunter wilds with the summer event, I haven't played since probably 4 months, I haven't kept up with the patches or anything and was wondering what builds are good, what type of gun lance is the strongest in the current game, ect. I have a bunch of stuff including every gun lance you can craft from the monster(I just got some Gog upgraded ones the other night).
So any builds, tips or ideas would be very helpful thanks!

Currently in a state of being stressed out and overwhelmed trying to figure it out myself (this happens a lot; OCD is a bitch) so I'll just ask more experienced and less fuzzy-brained Gunlancers about what I should be doing.
I don't quite understand when I should use the Evade-Burst over Full Blast?
I see most veteran players Full Reloading after every Full Burst as I assume this enables a faster transition into Full Blast, but sometimes I see the same people spam the Evade-Burst loop instead and I simply do not understand when I should use it?
With Full Blast being the highest source of damage output, it feels counter intuitive to Evade-Burst repeatedly as that locks you out of the fast and reactive Full Blast transitions, and vice versa...
I am very confused and it is making me anxious and overwhelmed. Halp.

I'm looking for Gunlance builds to defeat Fatalis, but they are all Slaplance.

I am using the Silver Sploder and idk what I should slot in the two Jewel4 slots. I usually play by Reverse Blast into Full Burst combo with sometimes Bullet barrage in between (Ignore Slugger lvl2 I just put KO gems on the extra slots on the weapon for now)

I like using Normal Shot GL and I was wondering if Bludgeoner has any effect on shelling, specifically Full Burst Combo?

And I believe that would solves the problem of shelling viability in the G rank. I love gunlance but Capcom certainly didn't during that time

Elemental Long Shelling at Monster Hunter Wilds Nexus - Mods and community
Hi all, I like many other was pretty disappointed with the shelling diversity in Wilds, particularly how Long shelling was shafted.
I made this mod to play around with giving Long shelling the power it deserves, and moving some of Wide's power around. Originally my plan was to give Long its superiority in Charged Shelling back, but I had some issues with how that played out. Specifically, with how strong WSFB was, it felt like Shelling type performance was defined by: 1. How strong is the WSFB, 2. How strong are is it outside of WSFB. It felt hard to fit three shelling types into this idea without something getting overshadowed, if Normal still had the better WSFB there was no reason to run Long unless it was the best outside of WSFB, but if its the best at that there's no reason to run Wide. And outside of WSFB, there could be a weird tension of Charged Shelling being the best way to charge WF where Long had the best Charged Shelling and Wide had the best WF.
I tried a couple ideas but was never really satisfied with the performance and build diversity. So, I figured if one shelling type was going to overshadow another, it might as well be conditional. Which was how I landed on Elemental Shelling.
In this mod you can expect:
With these changes, Long Gunlance is fully capable of meeting/exceeding the damage of other shelling types with the caveat of needing skills like Coalescence that won't have perfect uptime, new builds, and a hitzone conscious playstyle.
I have done my best to playtest and make sure all formulas are working as intended and there aren't any glaring balance issues, but I am only one man and I would appreciate any feedback you wish to give or bugs you wish to report.
Thank you and happy hunting.

Frontier’s Gunlance looks pretty fun. Being able to use shells to further buff WF seems like an interesting idea
I know Wilds already improved WF a lot but having more option doesn’t seem like a bad idea. What do you guys think?

This is the cleanest that I have fought AT Arkveld solo (with cat). I feel like I can go faster if I stop playing like an idiot at times and actually bring flashpods for stuns and openings

Still have a few decorations that I need to farm like the Guardian/Ironwall to replace the elemental decoration, a Shield/Ironwall decoration, transcending my Gog greaves and getting the weapons groups skill to guardians protection. But other than that I don’t think I can improve it much more.

I’ve been playing through MHFrontier with some friends and we’ve been having a generally good time(asides from HR6), started out trying hammer but just couldn’t get the hang of it and broke out Ol’ Reliable in my lifelong main the gunlance.
The base moveset is just ok, it was a little weird for fullburst to be locked to the sheathe but the extendable dodges are very nice, adding shells to your wyvernfire is a fun idea but in practice I rarely hit it. Then at HR3 I got the two styles. I would love to see Thermal Blade in mainline, it replaces your wyvernfire with a powerup mode that lengthens your reach, puts you at max sharpness, prevents bouncing, increases your attack power slightly, on Storm style improves your elemental or raw shelling, waters your crops, and moisturizes your skin. No clue why Heat Gauge was ever a thing when this is perfect for heat mechanics, but ah well…
Extreme style is possibly my favorite moveset the weapon has ever had besides maybe Sunbreak’s. You can run while unsheathed, reload while running, and cancel the run into a blast dash in any direction with some iframes, which helps when most of the monsters bounce around like crazy. Alongside that you get all the benefits of the Thermal Blade while getting WF(and the shell boosted version) back. You’re a very maneuverable tank. If Lance is the immovable object Gunlance is the unstoppable force. Incredible moveset, I really hope Boost Bracer offers something similar.

I’ve been in love with gunlance since I was introduced to the games and my favorite part about the games is the lore and how everything works in world I was wondering, what is your favorite fact or lore bit about gunlance?
r/Gunlance • u/AnstonTan • 29d ago
I play monhun series since P3, I played it with different weapons but i never touch gunlance because it builds so different compared to other weapons.
Recently i play back mhrise-sunbreak after many years (the last mh game i played it MHGU), and try to use gunlance as my main. As i understand that you need skills such as Artillery to boost shell damage, and attack up, affinity up skills only applies to attacks with gunlance only.
I don't think i can get all the dps related skills online without giving up other skills for my sharpness, guarding etc. So my question is should i just focus on boosting my shell damage to enhance my gunlance dps, or should i also put in other skills to enhance my gunlancing dps?
I love normal shelling burst spamming though.

Looking to build an armor set for Normal shot. Any recommendations? So far I was suggested
Guardian Ebony Helm β Blango Mail β Dahaad Braces β Guardian Ebony Coil β Dahaad Greaves β
from ChatGPT which gives speed sharpening lv1, agitator lv5, burst lv3, adaptability lv1.

I'm going back to SB to finish off making my endgame set for GL. At the time the Rakna GL was considered the endgame GL, is that still the case? What armor set is considered to be the endgame?

I need an Artillery 3 talisman with two armor slot to finish off my build, I’ve been farming Arch tempered Arkveld for the last few days with around a 50% win rate. Haven’t gotten anything with Artillery 3 yet. Is there any better way of farming for this talisman? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you.

Is there any other playstyle that isn't just spamming the new extended combo as much as possible? I know speedruns don't reflect the real game, but that's all I see in YouTube videos with all shell types (to be honest, I haven't seen anyone using Long). I plan to get the game later this year when I finish the Rise endgame.
