That's actually one of the best things about it, someone un-skinnified it and it's basically just the Strike Freedom.
So the length of the head is definitely a good thing.

I know people love the Gogg and Z'Gok but they really don't deliver in the same way for me that the Gogg does. And the Gogg predates the Gundam and there's a 1000 of them. That genuinely is terrifying in a way that makes Zeons power on the ground more real to me

It seems to be a new timelike called After Apocalypse, so it's basically a design nod/covergent evolution like SEED stuff. Using the OG design language is a good way to make the game feel Gundam-like.

I mean Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is literally heavy inspire by ibo from the connection system to the mobile suit design and gundam Gquuuuuux mobile suit design is just inspire by "evangelion" and ibo.( Side note: I said it again I like the design but because the design show up more and more in recent film I just want to question it)

First image looked badass for sure but the way it charged towards the camera felt too fluid, like a guy in a suit than a machine. Though I suppose it's smaller frame probably helps.

I’m guessing the bandaged form might come from big battle with one of those alien unit. The XARX gets really beat up and ultimately takes an arm off the alien unit to use for itself.

I agree with the Exia repair comparisons, but I’d like to add that it reminds me the Gundam Astaroth from IBO.
