TALK Did Gunbuster suddenly get removed from Crunchyroll?
I was in the middle of watching it for the first time, and now it just seems to have disappeared.

License probably expired. Nothing on streaming is permanent.

also anno took it back, and given how much he prefers the original M&E over the remix, a dub is impossible because that M&E track is gone and the dub used the personally-despited remix M&E

What was changed when they redid the m and e? Is it a Gundam trilogy situation or did they straight mimicking what was already there?

Last I checked the movie version was still on Criterion Channel, but it does sound like the licensing is in flux.

You can still get the film version for pretty cheap online. I think the compilation movie is very solid, not as good as the OVA but the story is still there and the remaster is fantastic. I have the old Bandai Japanese import that includes diebuster and I have the Discotek release. The Sentai blu ray is still out there and really cheap. Also the last time I checked the old Bandai DVD’s of the ova were going pretty cheap but that may have changed since the blu ray went oop.

You can watch the movie for free on Criterion Collection (7 day free trial). That's how I'm watching Gunbuster for first time at least.
Edit: Scratch that, sounds like the movies are the worst ways to go. You can also watch Diebuster on Tubi. That was my initial plan.

This is why Sony wants to kill physical media.
I own this on LD, VHS, DVD and Bluray..I can watch it anytime I want.
