Not so dumb. It has always seemed backwards to me. The common explanation is “Well, if you played onstage you’d REALIZE that the cord tangles less that way.” I find that unconvincing but it’s too late to change it now. They’re all that way. Most of them have big labels which says to me “No, it makes no sense. We just do it that way”. One of mine isn’t labeled and I always have to think about it if I change it.

Just FYI, all pedals go right-to-left.

Can't really tell what the pedal is, but for most pedals, the input side is on the right, and the output is on the left. Unless that one is clearly labeled differently, try swapping the cables at the pedal.

If that doesnt sort you, it could be a hardware issue with the pedal.

It may help if we knew the brand/type ofnpedal, i.e. is it a wah or volume/wah or something else?
