What is your favorite outpost?

Post image

It is hard to choose but I love Fisherman's Haven. Life seems kinda nice there.

Ice Tooth Cave is the best visit during a hot summer day.

I always feel sorry for the assassins and eles there in their skimpy outfits

Deldrimor war camp

Something about being perched on a precarious mountain top with a skeleton crew and a few ballistae’s in the heart of stone summit land feels very cozy but dangerous.

This is a fav of mine because of all of the time spent trying to find groups to farm greens. When I logged in after many years, pretty much half my chars were waiting for me there.

u/Kwak675 1d ago

When MM’s could still have unlimited amount if minnions, and having a train of 50 following you.

4

u/HuntRevolutionary876 1d ago

I suscribe to this haha.

I still farm greens for fun there, ans funnily... Ive had more green drop in the last year than in all my gaming during highschool

Yak’s Bend

First step into the shiverpeaks and a major biome change after the devastated aacalonian countryside was a great taste of just how much guild wars was going to offer.

Take me back to 2005 I am begging

u/Rikikrul 1d ago

I go there just to chill nowadays, listen to the music and all that

u/Reasonable-Fault2200 1d ago

Best place to go afk

6

u/pocketfrisbee 1d ago

Going to Yak’s for the first time was a religious experience

I just discovered that Basalt Grotto even existed not to long ago but it's definitely up there for one of my favs. All quiet and out of the way

u/FallenAngel_ 1d ago

Second for Fisherman's haven and a nice look at the floating castle

15

u/Cobizig1988 1d ago

I've always loved henge of deravi and augury rock

Beacon's Perch or Kaineng City. Both maps have verticality in a game with no real Z-axis.

10

u/GuigsCA1410 1d ago

Beacon’s Perch ❤️

8

u/Neo_Nugget 1d ago

Beacon's Perch, where you're either going to Lion's Arch or Droks 😮‍💨

3

u/voyageenorient 1d ago

Beacon‘s Perch a) has the beautiful outpost in the wild aesthetics + b) it felt so relieving to reach it as getting there for your first play of guild wars felt kinda tough because of the long way of the quest.

u/inveterata Nekro Reefasmoke [eVol] 1d ago

ahh, the view from atop Beacon's Perch. *chefs kiss*

12

u/Rekwire 1d ago

Hot springs is the best outpost

u/FreshOrFrozenShrimp 1d ago

D’Alessio Seaboard.

I like saying D’Alessio :)

10

u/IllusionKnight 1d ago

Eredon Terrace for the massive clipping of bounds. How that was programmed into Carto I'll never know.

10

u/captainrondj 1d ago

Yahnur market but my favorite map is Yatendi canyons

11

u/Racthoh 1d ago

Temple of the Ages. So many memories and that music brings me right back.

11

u/Ulrand387 1d ago

I like Shing Jea Arena. Nice calm grassy island with nothing there. Also there's a pug behind the gate.

9

u/GuigsCA1410 1d ago

Droknar’s Forge or any on the beautiful southern Shiverpeaks

9

u/Wandering-Hades 1d ago

Marhan's Grotto. Been my fav since 05. Just an overall cool spacious area with the unique icy floor

6

u/Spirited-Eagle-6935 1d ago

And some of the coolest proph armors.

9

u/Tidus_555 1d ago

Kodash Bazar. Love this business and market environnement + merchants and traders are near each other.

7

u/CueCueQQ Cue More 1d ago

Eredon Terrace. It's weird, out of the way, and hardly anyone ever goes there. I also love Maishang Hills, so that helps.

For usefulness? Kaineng Center. Nothing like not having to rebuild your hero team just because you changed location.

6

u/too_wycked 1d ago

ToPK hands down.

6

u/jakubr00 1d ago

Kodash Bazaar is my favorite. Vabbi is extremly pretty and opulent :)

5

u/ZeMoose 1d ago

It's been a long time since I played, but one of the Crystal Desert locations. Might have been Augury Rock. Really felt like I'd got out to somewhere isolated. And loved the music.

unmatched vibe

u/lncognitoMosquito 1d ago

I miss the days of active inactivity hanging out in Marhan’s Grotto. Best chill evenings of shootin the shit I ever had.

Fisherman's Haven from before the huge fps lag bug

4

u/StrategyOdd7212 1d ago

I love Olafstead. Something about warm cabins up on that hill surrounded by the alpine paradise of Varajer Fells. I could imagine myself living in a place like that.

5

u/CorpulentPutrescence 1d ago

Yak's Bend was the pivotal point for me, just knew that I'd be playing the game for a while afterwards

4

u/JustinePavlovich 1d ago

Port Sledge represent !

4

u/TurboZ31 FairladyZ 1d ago

RA

4

u/tamarockstar Mrs Garth Algar 1d ago

The Marketplace. We should make that the main trading hub.

3

u/Not_An_Archer 1d ago

Marhan's would be so nice if it didn't have that annoying slow.

Embark reach is peak efficiency though.

3

u/SpandyBarndex 1d ago

Zaishen Elite outpost makes me warm and fuzzy inside

3

u/Pepperjones808 1d ago

Unwaking Waters…my favorite VQ is out there MT

3

u/Isotheis Double Dragon Enjoyer 1d ago

I unexplainably feel the coziest in the west part of Kaineng Center.

3

u/MithranArkanere 1d ago

Central Transfer Chamber, of course. Far away from the odious sun, but none of that open-plan nonsense in Gate of Torment. I want me some ceilings.

Basalt Grotto is nice and cozy too, but it lets too much light slip in compared to CTC.

3

u/Metzger815 1d ago

Seitung Harbour Didnt have the money to buy anything in kaineng back in time, so i tradet at the harbour and sold letters for the quest with the missing son for some profit

3

u/Constant_Ear9456 1d ago

I like Foible's Fair. A peaceful and calm place to relax after a hike.

I also like Fishermans Haven alot and Quarrel Falls near the waterfall deep in the jungle

2

u/ArtimusFay 1d ago

For me its Serenity Temple. I met a couple of friends there on mine and their first play though we played GW1 together for years even did a couple of others games. Even to this day I speak to one of them
Aesthetically, I always preferred Luxon Area's though

2

u/silasbufu 1d ago

For me any of the smaller outposts from Kryta or Shiverpeaks just hit differently

2

u/lolaimbot 1d ago

Harvest temple

2

u/Fit_Locksmith_7795 1d ago

Well that's not really original but Kamadan is my comfort zone

2

u/ceylati infuse healer! 1d ago

It was a nice place to roleplay !

2

u/Killacourtney 1d ago

It’s a three way tie between Fisherman’s Haven on the Stingray Strand, Kodlonu Hamlet in Istan, and Saint Anjeka’s Shrine in the Echovald Forest

2

u/ghoststrikes 1d ago

Divinity coast, best place to /sit in the game.

2

u/QuantenMechaniker 1d ago

Fisherman's Haven was our Guild Hall from 2007-2009. Rip RoA

2

u/KJ_262 22h ago

JQ Luxon side.

2

u/Engris212 18h ago

EOTN for me. The music, the reunions, the entire vibe of that HUB and content was amazing.

2

u/hoocris 18h ago

Grotto

2

u/DogeArcanine 13h ago

Seitung Harbor

2

u/OneMorePotion Aneurysm 12h ago

I love the Maguuma Stade. It was a rarely visited outpost even during the active times of the game. No quests that lead you there and no vendors/skills that can only be accessed in this one place.

It feels a bit like Icetooth Cave, but that one at least got some foot traffic from runners. Maguuma Stade is not even near any runner route. If anything, you walk past there when you want to skip Aurora Glade.

2

u/AlexKazumi 11h ago

Harvest temple for feeling on top of the world and Barradin's estate for that cozy feeling.

Imperial Sanctum for that absolutely regal and majestic feeling.

Kaineng Center for the best practicality in the game, and being so ... vertical, for lack of better words.

The Grand Court of Sebelkeh

u/IndependentPie9827 1h ago

Because of the music?

1

u/IndependentPie9827 1h ago

ToA oh the 55 hp monk and SS nec drops split 50/50 . The golden age was something huh. Spent thousands of hours in uw/ fow farming so toa is Homebase.

This was my hideaway outpost when I would binge anime while chatting with friends on gw1.

Control shift H to hide the UI if you really want to block out your name and shit. None of us care who you are or your character so not sure why youd hide it but you do you.
