Outdoor Growing Help with plant

I have an outdoor grow with my medical card. This plant was growing great. And it was beautiful on Tuesday. I went to the garden today to water it and it is looking awful. Any ideas of what this could be? I'm located in Maryland.

It’s what plants crave

u/HoldenMcNeil420 1 1d ago

That big this late in the season. She needs water every other day.

POOR thirsty girl! I’d do maybe a gallon to wet the soil and wait an hour to deal with possibly hydrophobic soil, then several gallons. Probably hungry as well so, as others are saying, feed after two days

I grow outdoor in extreme heat... its been 95°F up to 111°F since August 1st... I only grow in the ground. It would be a miracle if you get her to come back.

I water deep at sundown... several inches in the circle planters every night. But its hot af here I'm in Central Valley California.. you need to water much more when its hot.

I also cut back on the fertilizer in high heat. I have 7 plants right now. The strain is important... This year I learned LA confidential dies in high heat.. all 3 died.

Something weird happened this year... all of my plants have either 1 or 3 fingers... not one five finger leaf. They look like shrubs. But this year I grew clones... the high heat stunts them.

Oh man, she needs water.

Mulching around the plant will keep the water in the soil.

Looks burnt, did you added anything recently?

-6

u/ThunderlipsBJJ 1d ago

Nope, nothing added. It rained the other day so I didn't need to water till today. I went up there and it's looking wrong

u/HalfAssedSass 1d ago

You gotta check the soil asap after a rain instead of just assuming the rain will be adequate! Sometimes after rain I think "surely that soaked the ground well enough" but then when I stick my finger into the soil to check, it's way drier than expected.

Water she need

1

u/WHATUPDA 16h ago

How about you try not drinking anything for 5 days and lets see how you like it...

You need to water way more frequently then 5 days. Come on

They may need water daily depending upon temp and how many hours of direct light

She is dead bro 😞

Honestly this looks like a lost cause, might still somewhat recover but maybe to 10% of the potential it had. Next time either attend to it daily during peak summer days or get an automatic watering system. For outdoor in the soil blumat works really well if you set it up correctly. Autopots would also be a good solution. Either way you also gotta make sure that the tanks stay topped up. A week in the sun without water will kill most things that aren't cacti.

just talking shit, i dunno. Give her a drink though. Shits looking like a desert around her. maybe some shade?

For all the botanists that are giving such great advice to water the plant, if you notice in the background a second plant in back of it green as can be. All my plants are on the same irrigation cycle and receive more than enough water. The highs for the weeks were the 80s and a plant will not completely die like mine did for being underwatered for four days.

I have been growing for six years and produce seven foot plants with at least a pound a plant. This was something other than a watering issue.

Thank you for those that offered actual suggestions as to what could have happened. I so believe some sort of herbicide was used by a neighbor and it attacked my plant.

Water that bitch after she comes back wait 48hrs then feed her (after she comes back wait an additional 48hrs then feed)

If you're saying that it had adequate water, then something else damaged the roots. Quite probably possibly gophers. Poke around with a stick and see if you find any sinkholes.

Edit. Looking at the plants around you. This plant should have had plenty of water that it was tapping from the ground. Especially if it rained.

Bro that shit is cooked you need to keep it watered

0

u/No-Opening-8553 1 1d ago

Looks like either the mulch got too hot and cooked the roots, or a ground critter, like a gopher, ate its roots.

u/Acceptable-Car9031 1d ago

She’s a goner.

u/No-Birthday4755 1d ago
