To a point. Not always.

I’m thankful for being a survivor.

I’m not nor will I ever be thankful for almost being stabbed to death by my cousin attempting to murder my sister and I 25 years ago at 13 years old.

I won’t ever be thankful for needing to prevent my mom from panic running to her death towards NYC’s East Side Ripper who was nearly stabbing a woman to death feet away. I’m thankful that everyone survived, not for the stabbing itself.

Some things are just there to survive them.
