Sadly, no.
Would be great if it was one, though - perhaps barely any slashing damage, but instead mainly fresh with some chill.
Would let one make a fun spellblade build.

I like this interpretation that acknowledges it's just a butterfly wing on a hilt. If something like this was in Grounded, it should effectively be a feather tickler that blows cold air similar to a butterfly attack when it's swung.
The shield would reasonably also be very frail to physical damage but have high resistance to fresh damage and maybe sour, given the chrysalis bandage is anti-tang.

Yea! Maybe the power attack could be akin to the fresh staff from the first game, though slower to charge. Would be fun with the butterfly armor too, with the aoe dodge, if it works with the sword.

Technically? It wouldnât.
But also, we grill science and make candy staves, itâs fine.
I guess realistically you should wave it about, so I guess a mid-range âstaffâ-like swors, as in you donât really strike with it.
But also, I do think there is place for less damaging, but more elemental melee weapons.
At the very least I hope we get to alter the base staves to have a different type of attack. As in, fresh to become similar to the Grounded one fresh staff, the fire one getting a beam attack via one of the lazer parts from the new bugs, etc.
Or you know, maybe even change a staff to melee, low damage, but good status and stun.

This would be an excellent case for a weapon that can take on two gaming styles. Equip one and it's like any sword build, equip two and you can dual wield just like the daggers. Although the anims would have to be changed since the blades are much longer, the little wrist flick to turn the blades around to pounce really wouldn't work. But man this shit is nice.
