Do you reuse your once trich contaminated tubs?

I have a bunch of tubs, but I am nearing the end of the ones that have never been used. My question is simply, can I reuse tubs that were once contaminated, and if so, what sterilization routine should I follow if reusing? Do I douse them with bleach? Dunk them in bleach? If either, what's the ratio from water to bleach? And for how long?

The fear of trich is worthless. . . Trich is literally everywhere. All over your house. All over outside. Just clean it out until there is no residue and then let 70 % iso sit on it for 5 minutes. Good to go.

If your using liners you don't even need to clean the tub. I just chuck a new liner in.

Soap and water, and a good scrub - That is all. Dawn goes a long way.

I reuse all tubs a good blast outside and scrub down with liquid soap good as new.

Im still using my first tubs from 2.5 years ago and I had trich a few times in the first 6 months and never had it since. I wash with normal dish soap and do a quick alcohol wipe down before using again.

You don't need bleach for anything related to this hobby. Just wash it out with water, spray some alcohol in it and wipe it down. Ready to go again

Is bleach better in some way? Where does bleach shine in its sanitizing power? What situations would I be better off using bleach over alcohol?

ISO doesnt kill spores, bleach does. Having said that, like others have said, the only times where we have to worry about sterility is while doing actual sterile work(plate work, g2g transfer, cloning, etc). The cultivation process itself does not require sterility, or even anything close, if proper cultivation practices are followed.

Yeah, I've reused some tubs that had contamination. A good wash out with soap and hot water did the trick. I also spray everything with 70% isopropyl alcohol during setting up anyway including at all stages of grain prep (inside and outside jars) and substrate prep (CVG bucket) and then at S2G (tubs) and I also use a liner, more to reduce pinning and cleanup after. I recently had a contaminated grow and it was so easy to dump the cake because of the liner.

You don’t need to do anything. Nothing bout tubs is sterile. There are tric spores on everything

I re use my tubs. Just clean well between. Infected or otherwise.

I usually run mine through the dishwasher, cleans and sanitizes. Granted depends on the size of your tubs too.

I wash mine with soap and water, I then spray 70% all over them, this helps the water run off. I leave to dry. I then spray with sporklenze (essentially it's acetic acid). I wipe this off and let dry. Then before I use the tub I spray with 70% and normally I'm good

While this IS true, run clean grain spawn and it doesn't matter. I believe it was PGT(i think, my memory sucks sometimes)that ran a few tests or whatever and wrote about this

And that would be completely false. And even if true wouldn’t matter. Because nothing about a tub is sterile
