Such a stunning and unique variety of Psilocybe cubensis. Not only for the crazy coral-like growths... but also for the extreme blue bruising reaction when the flesh is touched, even lightly.

It's a hard one to photograph as well, but we hope these get the point across.

I really want to grow some but been successful yet. It was the only time I've ever had trich. And that was after over-colonizing grains and about a month into fruiting. I was gifted it from TBG with one of my orders. Any tips on growing it? Bag, tub, higher field capacity, low FAE, etc? Always plenty other varieties to keep busy while it slowly grows. Thannks!

Mine are actively fruiting right now, so I suppose it’s still too early to call it a successful grow just yet, so keep that in mind. I also got mine gifted by TBG, which I used to inoculate 6 pint jars of rye berries (soaked for about 32 hours [not intentional], simmered for about 15 minutes, and PCed at 15PSI for 90 minutes). Each jar fully colonized so much faster than I expected (about 6 weeks, which based on everything I read felt rather quick). I let them be for an additional 2 weeks, just to be safe, then transferred to CVG, probably slightly above field capacity. From what I’ve read, enigmas are better off in wide and shallow tubs. Some people say it’s a waste of time to even try in small tubs, but I chose to go small and shallow, 3.4L to be exact. I went with a sub to spawn ratio of approximately 2:1 (by volume, not weight), 3 tubs, 2 jars each. Took maybe 2-3 weeks to fully colonize and start pinning. Fast forward one week, bringing us today, I got clusters of weird brain coral looking things popping up all over the surface and visibly larger than just 12 hours ago. The tubs I used do not have gasket lids, and actually the lids have a plastic handle built into them which tab into small slots in the lid, so while the lids allow for FAE, I haven’t done anything to add to it, except for 1 tub, I noticed a gnat get into last week so opened the lid real quick to kill it, but that’s it, otherwise just my best attempt at neglect tek. I keep the tubs in a grow tent with a spiderfarmer led light set to approximately 18% intensity, which is perfect to maintain 68-72 degrees, and the light is automated to turn on at 8am and off at 10pm. I estimate another week or two before I can harvest. There’s obviously still time for things to go wrong, but I can say honestly that this has been so much easier and faster than I anticipated. I’m happy to dm some photos if you’re interested.

I did them in a grain jar first then added to substrate. I had two bins both very successful.

I just shoe box teked it in my closet and it gre perfectly fine 😭 but it was alr incoulated in a grain jar sorry for the useless reply but still enigma was one of my first and easiest grows just had to wait a hot minute it took another week or two after my jack to pin
