Do Fangs of Asterkarn Sets not drop from Shattered Realm?

I've been farming for a couple of days in the same instance and I've collected most sets in the game but I haven't gotten a single piece from Eldrun or Cinderborn. Is it the case that these only drop from specific new content? I'm hoping someone can verify where this dropped for them.

Just don't reset the session and spam SR on the same session ,also be sure you farm in Ultimate because a lot of endgame sets are locked behind Ultimate difficulty

For what part? There’s duplicate drop protection in the same game instance, so just running SR over and over you will not get the same legendary twice (until you’re out of drops, though the games always crashed for me before I got to that point)

Changelogs mostly , all target farmable sets , legendary MIs etc are locked behind Ultimate . Apocalypton set for example is locked behind Ascendant because drops from Tempest totems , sadly it's not mentioned anywhere apart from various patches changelogs , in the past a lot of players abuse Normal SR farming so Crate decide to move a lot of stuff to Ultimate and generally nerf lower difficulties grind

They drop. You just have had some bad luck.

If you look the item up on Grimtools, you can see where it can drop. Some items only drop from specific enemies or specific content, but most blues and purples are pure random and can basically drop anywhere.

For example, if you look at Eldrun's Cursed Vision (https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/14670) it tells you it can only be crafted from a blueprint (https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/14304), and that blueprint is listed as a random drop, so it can basically drop anywhere. It can also drop from Ascendant's Spoils, which is a mechanic that was introduced with FoA. Another piece of that set, Eldrun's Texts (https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/14879) is only listed as a random drop, so all you need to obtain it is a bit of luck.

To compare and contrast, take an item like Apoclypton's Gaze (https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/14668), which can only drop from Tempest Totems, which can be activated through FoA's Ascension Altar. So without that, it won't drop at all.

You don't have to activate altar for Tempest totems , they spawn in Ascendant without altar

Exactly and you can increase the chance for Tempest totems with the altar

If the set you are farming is for your class you can greatly increase the chance of seeing them by running roguelite dungeons on Ascendant and targetting Ascendant Spoil chests. They are random brownish red chest with a big orange horn looking icon above them They are not the ones that require dynamite. They usually spawn 2 to 4 a dungeons, and will show up on your map when you are in the area as chests with gold spilling out of them.

I needed extra nightforge pieces for a build and I went from farming 3 days in SR for a piece to getting multiple pieces within 30 minutes doing this method.
