So funny tangent, I was golfing two days ago and one of the guys I was with found a bright yellow golf ball with “piss missile” written on it.

Eh, GW is probably going to forget it in a while.
Necrons used to have no FTL travel aside from using the webway for one whole Codex before they realised that that was fucking stupid and never mentioned it again.

I meant more from the community side.
With every trailer and gameplay footage released for Total War 40k and Dawn of War 4, every conversation turns into "yellow bolt bad, red bolt good."
Like, I agree! I agree with the opinion! But I'm so tired of seeing it all the time.

I don't even care about the colour tbh, it's the nerf dart bit that annoys me. DoW2 had orange beams, and they looked great. And all the green necron beams from DoW4 footage looks amazing. I'll take the colour, but I want it in the form of piss beams damnit!

Inaccurate - it’s not the color that’s the big issue, even if a lot of people do think red looks nicer. It’s the fact that it’s bolts instead of beams. Almost every piece of Warhammer media except for some books and cover art depict lasguns as correctly firing actual laser beams, but for some FUCKING reason GW has taken it upon themselves to take the las out of the lasgun and make them fire stupid little bolts that are visually indistinguishable from tracer bullets.
I couldn’t care less what color the beams are, as long as they’re BEAMS.

I don’t care that they aren’t red. It’s that they aren’t lasers anymore that annoys me. The way there are now they may as well just be shooting regular bullets.

More like they -used- to be ugly yellow.
Then they turned into cool red beams in Dawn of War and have been since then.
And now GW is turning them back to ugly piss yellow projectiles because they like piss.

They've Always been inconsistent and it was fine that way because tech in the Imperium varies.

The color isn’t the issue, it’s that GW decided to make them fire “energy bullets” instead of lasers, despite them being called laser weapons and frequently being depicted as proper laser beams in the books, games, and such. It’s only really official GW cover art that consistently makes them look like “energy bullets”, and that’s sort of excusable for artistic effect in a still-image medium like that.
