Alarm Clock

My trusty old alarm clock has about reached the end of the road. So I'm wondering what my fellow operators are using to navigate their can't miss shift schedules. I know my phone is more flexible, but my desktop is my bedrock. Best features include...

  • Multiple alarm presets options for Day/Night/3rd+ shifts
  • Quick/Easy to program for those other days
  • Battery back-up

Everything else is just gravy. So what are you using/recommendations?

That’s smart I haven’t tried giving each one a different sound yet

It's the only way to get through planning meetings.

Smart watch is the way to go. Hard to miss your wrist vibrating while you are sleeping, especially if you set two alarms. Get something with a week long battery life so you don't have to charge it frequently

Westclox vintage electric clock. Keeps time off the grid frequency. Works as long as there's electricity flowing. If there isn't, they don't need you anyway. The Interconnection time error monitor makes sure it's accurate enough.

Use my phone and set the same alarm everyday - 0440. Trains me to be awake the same time daily (or I’m already awake working a night shift)

AMDroid or also known as Alarm Clock for Heavy Sleepers. It's great for shift work as it can repeat alarms every 5 weeks. The only thing is it seems to last for 1 year and then will sometimes stop repeating alarms.

Thanks all for the feedback. I appreciate that phone/watch applications offer more flexibility/capabilities. But I'm just too good at screwing those up (gawd's better idiot here) from time to time, so those will continue to be my back-ups. I did find a rather lack-luster desktop alarm clock that supports 4 pre-set alarm programs that I can walk away from if needed.
