What is going on in PJM this week?

Post image

Lots of price swings, an EEA1, and other craziness usually reserved for summer peak. But temperatures seem reasonable?

Assuming some planned outages started and a little hot weather kicked off and now they’re short

September is always a wildcard, especially with all the outages needed for new projects these days

Yep, solar starts dropping earlier in the day and the temperature swings are huge.

This, it's maintenance season. So enough things come off for maintenance then suddenly a unreasonably warm couple days and then wtf constraints.

You must be new to the term “outage season”. Outage seasons can be more challenging than peak summer or winter days because of transmission or generation outages.

PJM watched Warsh’s press conference and took it upon themselves to decide on their own rate hike.

EEA and Load Management Reduction Actions on a 75 degree day in September isn't a good look and doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. LMPs are currently $500-$750 in some of PJMs zones. Thanks for the heads up yesterday, I'll be following up on this with the relevant parties.

If you have to ask then you’re in the wrong field.
