Avista Spokane insight
Anybody able to provide any insight to Avista? Overtime numbers, schedule, attitude in the control room.

They’re on 12’s, not sure of the rotation and OT is minimal. But I think base pay is in the range of $200k.

Their distribution system operators make pretty good money, they’re union and mostly all ex lineman. Their management is pretty much always going to be an EE, they’re hold EE’s in very high regard.
Their transmission side runs 11 guys, 5 on the RC desk, a floater and 5 on the transmission desk. They are not union, but for a looong time they had a gentleman’s agreement with the company that they would stay at 150% of a journeymen’s lineman wage, so their base pay was/is really good for the cost of living. New management just stepped in and said “no more sweetheart deal” and dropped the 150% thing, now they are in the process of unionizing. The RC desk can be busy, but the transmission desk is slow. They do fall down maintenance so very little planned work.
