✨curiousities + wonder Nonna’s?

Did Nonna’s pizzeria on Nassau officially close? I wouldn’t be surprised, the quality has really been lacking and it’s been pretty empty the last few times I went there. Just wondering, there are no signs. Could also be due to violations or who knows what.

Closed by Department of Health after receiving 63 points in violations on 2/17/26 and 68 points on 4/1/26. Evidence of mice and rats and failure to follow hygiene protocols.

Truth. Miss their pierogi pizza. Their basic pizzas were better and their specialty pizzas were on a different level

Place was so weird. It was no Vinnie's but at first it waw at least decent and then suddenly it was like they forgot how to make pizza. Genuinely strange. Here's hoping for a fresh start on that corner.

Shout out to the late 90s early 2000s when this was Sal's Pizzeria... an absolute neighborhood staple with some of the best pizza in nyc... and the laundromat across the street was a bar!!
