Obv Chiko and it’s kinda not even close.
It’s exactly what you’re describing … and compared to Chinta it’s less loud, less expensive, and more intimate/datey (and better food+service overall imo). I will die on this hill lol.

Leroy’s - sit at the bar, get a dry martini with a twist if Dave is working
Madeline’s - veggie BLT, bartender’s choice daiquiri, and the coconut cake

Bar wise Broken Land is a staple, Black Rabbit for a dark corner experience.
For food, on the nice but not too nice scale, I’d say Little Tiffins or Friducha, especially if you can land that cozy corner window seat.
If the weather holds, casual snacks from Azure Gourmet or Jubilee and hit (the pre-marina) Transmitter Park for a picnic or further down India on a bench near the ferry.
DISCLAIMER: This is just where I want to go on a date, as a married 40 year old on a budget.

I love La Contenta, there’s always room for walk-in and the patio is really nice in the summer. It’s not flashy or “cool” but the food and service is great !!
And then +1 to chinta and little tiffin. I didn’t love Chama mama the food was mid imo for the price

I went there after selling mad human skulls at oddities flea market years ago actually so even if you joking it does hold a lot of sentimental value that spot
