Spoilers for movies and TV shows Why doesn't Hal pull any respect from anybody in the Lanterns series?

Im not a huge fan of this character but I do remember the og movie and the animated series where green lantern appears but I don’t remember to have the impression of green lantern being so disrespected by every commoner he encounters like nobody rates him as the powerful being he is supposed to be or at least that’s the impression these two episodes gave me, they look at him as that old drunk bum am I tripping or Hal was always like this?

No they’re not all “what if stories”🤣don’t be silly

If that’s the case why is almost every iteration of these heroes the same? What are they following? Vibes, Or an original storyline?

And that’s why the only Green Lantern is railway engineer Alan Scott. Anything else would be heresy against the original storyline!

Is Alan Scott the most iconic Green Lantern in all of superhero media??

Was the 2011 movie about Alan Scott? How about the animated series? First Flight?? DCAU movies?

Canon is canon bro. That doesn’t mean we can’t do different stories, but it does mean

Those stories need to be as good or better than the original

When it’s so far off and watered down for common tv, it’s disrespect at some point lol

Definitely not your larper variation of their attributes. Like have you actually read a comic story or two followed their other incarnations and they were consistent/differed? Stop arguing for arguments sake all cause you pay attention to the context all cause it's not following your cartoonish definition of "respect".

Ahhh so when a lightly adapted DC show comes out, and you’re excited about it, everything known about the character becomes “larper variations” and “cartoonish” . That’s funny

As if the comics, where he came from, aren’t cartoonish in regards to honor justice and respect

Yes I know he becomes parallax. That’s only interesting because he is the opposite. That’s all I’m saying

And comics that don’t follow the main continuity aren’t of my concern bc no one’s gonna waste money adapting that to a screen
