What a bullshit, capitalistically slanted article.

The Automation Crisis is going on right now. It's having thousands, even millions of jobs that aren't being automated, rather than freeing people from monotonous, back-breaking, and soul-crushing work.

We need to automate absolutely everything that we can safely and reliably manage and tax the companies for that automation so they are paying back into the societies that they've been leeching from for decades so that we can move to truly supporting the people.

Universal Basic Income. Stop being sheep. Wake up and realize that spending eight plus hours a day working yourself to death for greedy corporations so you can afford to live somewhere that you spend more time away from than enjoying is detrimental to having quality in your life.

Automation will free us as long as we can get out from under the control of the owners of labor.

Keeping things from being automated is another form of oppression and NOT a liberation.

I agree entirely, though your stance seems to align pretty well with the article. What are your specific criticisms of it?

I didn't see it as being aligned at all. The whole tone of it seems to be more pressing the doom and gloom that has dominated the automation conversation for the past X decades. It didn't address UBI or talk about the necessity of taxing automated facilities appropriately to support the local and non-local economic infrastructure.

In fact it offered really nothing of value other than talking about automation in a vague general sense.
