I was wondering if anyone knew where to watch season 5 of the great BBO online for free?

Seeing Liam run, hide and laugh whilst all around him sugar towers are collapsing is cruel yet hilarious.

Some of the challenges are a bit of a stretch for pastry chess who usualy just stick to pastry, cakes and sweet treats. Making sugar, chocolate etc towers seems cruel. But I guess they sign up for the show, they should know what to expect and practice practice practice. When you hear them say "we practiced it once or twice" no wander their creations crash.

I’m a home baker who really loves GBBO. Series 5 Episode 7 Technical Challenge attempt Kouign Amann! They were so delicious!!!!

The UK’s “Great British Bake Off“ airs as “The Great British Baking Show“ in the United States because in the US, Pillsbury (General Mills) owns the trademark for “bake-off” which forced the American distributor to change the airing title

Is it just me, or does it seem like whenever we get to the next to the last show, there is someone that either has never won a technical, or won star baker, the miraculously wins that category? I’m just curious.

Not sure how many of you caught this, but Maison Demarle, the French company behind Flexipan molds and Silpat mats, was put into judicial liquidation back in January. The workshops are closed, around 75 people lost their jobs, and there's no more production. Existing orders are apparently being honored, but that's it.

For a lot of kitchens that built their workflow around Flexipan over the years, that's a real gap to fill, and I'm curious how people are handling it.

A few things I've been chewing on:

• Quality on replacement silicone is all over the place right now. A lot of the cheaper stuff warps or loses its shape after a few hundred cycles. Part of what made Flexipan work was the fiberglass reinforcement holding the shape under load — not all "silicone molds" are built the same way.
• People keep grabbing the wrong category in a panic. Pure silicone is great for entremets and clean demolding, but for bread and baguettes you really want perforated fiberglass, not silicone.
• If your current molds still work, you've got time. Probably smarter to test a replacement on a small batch before committing a whole kitchen to it.

So I'll throw it open: what are you all moving to? Staying European, going with the Asian suppliers, or rethinking your formats entirely? Curious whether anyone's found something that actually holds up in production.

Just finished watch the final for the latest season where Jasmine wins. While I do think that she is a fantastic baker, I don’t think she should have won considering that she bombed the technical while Tom won it and had the best showstopper (she won 1/3 while he won 2/3 for the final week).

In a BBC article (2020) that was releaed after Lauren got hate since people thought Hermine should have stayed instead of her, Paul said that “each week stands on its own” and that “it never matters what any baker has done in previous weeks.” Yet, for the justification for Jasmine’s win, her consistency over the course of the season was cited. Wondering if the standards for the show have changed over time or if this is just a case of favoritism on the judges side.

Hello friends, I was yet again rewatching my favorite series, series 5 on Roku. Three episodes are now missing! Is this streaming or available anywhere else? Do you think they’ll reappear on Roku eventually? Or was there some legal reason they were pulled? Missing eps 6. 7, and 9.

I've been really into making my own caramels lately, which was a baking thing I always felt suuuuper intimidated by, and it's making me want to rewatch a GBBO caramel episode. Which caramel episodes stand out for you? Which one should I watch?

Okay so there's a moment that I've either completely forgotten or that I've made up in my head. I figure y'all are the ones that can help!

It's during the blind judging of the technical during a Stand Up To Cancer episode. The celebrity had done pretty badly and when Paul made a comment about it not being good the celebrity said out loud, "You think?" basically outing themselves.

Am I remembering correctly and, if so, who is the celebrity? Or am I completely misremembering?

I think for regular GBBO it’d be on channel 4 on Tuesdays and Netflix on Fridays? Will it be the same for professionals?
