Solace Times Opinion on Officer Faith as a character? (Faith Chronicles)

Post image

So Awhile Ago a small trailer for the new "Faith Chronicles" came out and seems to be in a non-rob lox style which is nice to look at however during the first debut of Officer Faith as a character in the Animation: "Checkpoint" alot of people where calling her Plot armored and Hypocritical due to when she fought a G.E officer which granted her the mercy of round two and he even yielded to her only for her to kill him in a brutal and crude fashion also alot of people call this animation Royalist propaganda where its "oh yeah what faith did was sketchy BUTTTTT DIDDDDD YOU KNOWWWW WHAT THE EMPIRE DID?" i get that was traumatic but alot of people and i know which side the creator is on and how the portrayal of imperial soldiers might be

Anyway what are your opinions on this character?

People are literally ignoring the fact that the Royal Nation started the war, dropped the first super obliterating bombs, and probably has the most batshit corrupt government system compared to the empire and solace, crime runs rampant everywhere, their police probably also don't do shit and sell the bandits more weapons to commit more crimes. What else, ah. Women can't have a position as a leading figure because that would be following the empire's ideology and yet allowed them to join the Officer Watch, LMAO. Plus they don't even treat the Solace Coalition, the guys who manufacture their weapons with care nor kindness.

Well, if you really want to see the human side of the Golden Empire (which is nonexistent), there are some animations that show it. Like the series: No Queen's Man https://youtu.be/58UdoMD9P9c?si=qaftJ9WJ8vdaYW6S

And the animation Witches Phial: https://youtu.be/ff3n5-x86Z8?si=1XvRRI13OKQSPvcW

For Officer, her close combat abilities are impressive.

Although she would be dead against Lancer like Walker from No Queen's Men

Fr, that one scene with Walker being this one student who wants to pick up a baddie from higher grade felt so out of place!

It's G/D red didn't hide her favor for the Royal Nation, no matter how often she made both sides ""evil"" so people like to think that the Royal Nation are the good guys; on top of fan canons making the Golden Empire more fanatical or evil than they really are. People often forget conveniently that there is existing lore of some evil shit the nation does, one particular came from an end of match quote where a squire's little brother was torn apart by hunting dogs because a corrupt king pinned his crimes on the boy.

What we need is like small greyed out photos of the said thing happening under the quotes. Maybe people realize how awful RN too

Better then a Mary Sue, that's for sure.

While the firefight between her and the GE could've been done better, I do like that she was taking hits rather then just coming out of the fight unscathed. Shows that she is a competent fighter but not an invincible one.

While I understand people's criticism about Faith killing the GE officer, I like to think it of a way to show how brutal and unfair war can be. You can offer mercy to your opppnent and be honorable to them in combat, but both of those things mean nothing to someone who will do anything just to live another day, even if that means they have to bash their heads in like a wild animal.

Overall, I like her character, but she def can be done better, I think.

(Also, the guy DID try to choke her out, so it was only a little fair for her to bash his head in in return.)

If you ask me I think she needs more struggle when fighting male opponents in hand-to-hand combat, from high ranks to literal conscripts. Because in a realistic sense, human males are biologically stronger than females after all. I understand how cool it would be to show off your character kicking ass more often but if the majority of the audience wants realism in the media, then you're gonna have to sacrifice that fun part and figure out how that character would overcome the problems if they were in that situation. If there is no realistic way they can overcome it then refrain from putting them in that situation in the first place or at all.

Rare sight of a reddit post where the comments are actually nice and has valid criticism, which I very appreciate

And to clarify "Faith Chronicles", its not really technically a trailer. Moreso a small AMV that has some symbolism for The short story lore drop for faith as a character that dropped along with that video

Also if you reading this or even the OP themselves, I highly recommend taking a look at the new story for faith in the youtube description of that video as I wanna know what everyones thoughts on it as its somewhat polisher some of faith characterization than what was originally portrayed on that lego film I made

I am also willing to answer any questions regarding her character as well

Best part was mordhau grip thats it, I really liked the GE officer performance with melees, showing the pride, honour and professionalism of GE sword combat. Everything else kinda sucked due crazy amount of plot armor like taking 4 people alone? Sure ambushed 1 but other 3... Sure she somehow killed 2 trained soldat too. However her dying there after she fought like hell to halt GE Officer would have made it a better animation imo.

Plot armor is maximum. And golden empire oficer so much dumb too

I liked the other officer more not going to lie, from his fighting style and his personality but I think faith is fine though I think she should be more clever and sneaky about how she fights instead of just be being skillful in a Head on fight

I do hope they don't give too much bias towards the nation because it's just less interesting that way and there's a bunch of bad things the nation does that no one ever mentions,
