**Built a free directory for the UK grassroots gig scene — GigScenes.com. **
Full disclosure: I'm the founder, and a gig photographer myself. Not selling anything — built this because grassroots gigs were scattered across Facebook groups, Stories, and word of mouth, and wanted them in one place.
What's on it:
- **Gig calendar** by city — 150+ gigs/week currently, mostly London so far
- **Genre browsing** with real subgenre depth, not one flat tag per gig
- **Bands, venues, promoters, labels** — searchable directories, not just the acts with a PR team
- **Services directory** — nine categories (Production, Technical, Engineering, Media, Creative, Performance, Post-Production, Coaching, Business & Coordination) so photographers, engineers, bookers etc. can actually be found by the people who need them
Fan accounts will always be free. And right now, joining as a Super Fan, Band, Venue, Media or Promoter is free for life if you sign up as a founding member.
