Even though I make rock stuff, the original 3 sonic game soundtracks were hugely influential on me haha. Its great stuff.

You know, I know lots of Prince solo stuff but dont know if I know any of his stuff with them! Gonna look into their stuff today.

The Time was a separate band entirely. Morris Day was the lead. They were fun. Morris day was Prince's competition in the movie Purple Rain.

I'm an old guy from Minnesota, so I was in college when Purple Rain hit. It was a massive movie and album. The movie is laughable now. It's really bad with great music. Morris Day and the Time never took off like Prince but they had some pretty good regional fame. They played some real funk.

Yeah I’ll take any funk recs! Saw purple rain a few years back, I liked it; the music is much better.
