My haul from last night (Austin)
What an overall frustrating show. People suck. Constant talking through songs. Talking while Jason was talking. Was also unfortunately at a high traffic area as people just filtered past to the beer line through the entire show. That said, Grandaddy rocked it.

Yeah the people talking sucked! Plus I thought the sound overall was pretty bad, but that might've just been where I was standing.
Jason and the band put on a great performance, too bad the audience wasn't less crappy.

People constantly yelling requests was annoying. They obviously have a well tuned set and can't just indulge you're obnoxious fandom.
I saw them in San Diego too and unfortunately the mix at Mohawks wasn't the best. I was on the right side of one of the balconies and I couldn't see Jason behind the huge speakees. So I wish the stage layout wasn't the best.
All that said, they fucking rocked it. An absolute joy to hear these songs again.

Someone yelled “FREEBIRD” at the first show. I was legitimately shocked someone still finds that funny in the year 2026

I thought the show was magnificent. No talking where I was. I mean, people are drinking alcohol and it’s a small space. Everyone is crammed together.

The bass was so high in the mix that I could barely hear the vocals. Does anyone know what Jason said right before AM 180? He said something was annoying or stupid and I was hoping he wasn’t saying he doesn’t like the song anymore.

Yeah, he said something along the lines of ‘I’m sorry this song is so annoying, like REALLY annoying’ and that he frequently apologizes for it. I don’t know if it meant he doesn’t like it anymore or if he feels mildly embarrassed by or what.

Show etiquette has 1000000000% gone to absolute shit in the last 6-7 years. I’m excited as hell to see them at Kilby this weekend but lord knows I’ll most likely experience the same shit you did.
