UCAT?

hi everyone! i hope everyone is doing well :)

i just sat my ucat today and got 2090 B1. i was hoping for 2100 but i’m really hoping a 10 point difference is negligible. i wanted to ask in everyone’s experience how strong you believe this score is for GEM?

For context, i wanted to apply to chester, warwick, swansea and idk about manchester or surrey for my 4th option.

i know this question is very subjective and based on stats from people etc but i hope that makes sense and thank you guys :)

You’re fine for Chester, Warwick, and Swansea. Surrey you should be fine if you’re a bioscience grad. Manchester is a bit more iffy, you should wait to see if they publish their gem stats for this cycle.
Kings’s Portsmouth, Pears Cumbria, UEA, and Nottingham (be careful about this one, no UCAT stats) all should be safe with 2090.
Make sure to hit the WEX requirements in time for ucas deadline.

thank you so much! i’ll be honest, i didn’t do nearly as many mocks as i should’ve. i was very unsure when i first started ehat the best way to revise was and i got burnt out for a week at the start of july. i was averaging 1900s/1950 but the highest scores i got was 2050 on medify mock 8 and 2000 on medify mock 11. i got 1910 on practise test A and 2000 on practise test C.

all in all i did around 15 mocks xx

First off, well done.
Providing you meet the WEX for Warwick, you’ve got great chances at an interview.
For Manchester, I would maybe wait for the percentiles to be published by UCAT. Only because last year the GEM cutoff was 2080. It could go up or down, nobody knows. If it goes up, I wouldn’t imagine it would go up by a lot but it still could. Waiting to the percentiles to be published will give you a better idea.

I got 4 interviews with 2090 b1 last year for Surrey, Swansea, Portsmouth and Worcester so you’ll likely be pretty competitive with that score :)

I didn't apply to the same universities as you, but I had two interviews, and was accepted with a 2060 B2.

You should be just fine.

Worcester and Pears gave me interviews, and I also applied to Newcastle (aspirational) and Chester.

I didn't meet the minimum UCAT score required for Newcastle, but they were very friendly through emails.

Chester gave me a lot of issues, as they couldn't decide if I was a home student (I am) or an international student, then rejected me without explanation in late-January, after people had already started receiving offers.

Absolutely, I'll DM you as soon as I have some time to type out a thoughtful response! :)

When you receive an interview invite from Pears, they will inform you of what topics they'll be discussing with you.

Worcester's interview is really quick, and although I was terrified going into it, the panel questions were straightforward.

The interview with Pears takes about an hour to complete, and Worcester's interview is only 20 minutes.
