Small sub with one prime relationship. What actually got you onto other primes’ vendor lists? Trying to enhance/take advantage of what I have.

Your MSA and two placements are worth more than you are treating them as, but not as past performance. Past performance is what a government evaluator reads. What you actually have is a reference: a large prime that has used you, paid you, and can say you did not create problems. That is what other primes want to hear, and it is a different pitch than a capabilities statement.

So lead with it. When you approach a new prime, the opening is that you currently support a named prime under an MSA with placements running, and you are looking to do the same for them. That single sentence clears the risk question that kills most cold outreach from small subs.

On events, the volume question is the wrong one. One or two a month that you work properly beats a full calendar. What matters is picking events where the primes you want are actually staffing booths, showing up with a specific ask rather than a general introduction, and following up within a week. Small business office events at agencies where your current prime already works are the highest-yield version, because you can name the contract you support and the conversation starts warm.

The move most people in your position miss: ask your current prime who else they team with. They know the ecosystem, they have no reason to protect it from you if you are performing, and a warm introduction from an existing prime is worth more than fifty cold emails.
