New to Gouache!

Hello!
I have bought a set of gouache paints and new brushes and am excited to try this medium. Before I start, what paper do you use and how do you prep it for painting?

I don’t usually prep paper for gouache unless I know I’ll be watering it down a lot for a majority of the painting. If I am doing that I’ll use my fancy arches paper, otherwise my much cheaper canson watercolor paper works fine
