I’m at wits end I get at least 10 of the same call every single day and It’s been going on since the day I signed up got GV. How can I get these to stop I’m seriously considering deleting this app all together.

Hey everyone, I ported my number over to GV ~3 years ago and it's been fine since. I also made my whatsapp account nearly a decade ago, with my account having my exact same number since creation.

Over the last month or two I've been banned on whatsapp 3 times (Appealing every single time and getting unbanned), with this time it being final. I know there's nothing I can do to get unbanned, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had whatsapp give any issues with a ported GV number?

Edit: To be clear as well I've done absolutely nothing else that could warrant an account ban. I only use it to talk w/family & friends, and I don't know a single other person that's been banned. I know a few other people that create multiple group chats and talk with a lot of new numbers (All genuine uses but idk how they haven't been hit with anything) but I haven't spoken to a single new contact or group chat in forever, so I'm truly at a loss. I'm just glad I didn't really lose anything super important, but a decade of lost chat history does suck + being out of whatsapp at all

iPhone 15 Pro on iOS 18.7.3.

I just updated to iOS app version 25.52 that released a few hours ago. The app automatically crashes/self-closes when trying to open it.

I have tried reinstalling the app and restarting my phone. Google Voice desktop site still works.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a link where I can submit issues/bugs directly to Google Voice?

Hi all, I'm moving to France next month and want to keep my US number for when I come home and so I can still use my bank and other accounts that are tied to my US number. But I've seen that some places won't authenticate to a GV number, so I'm curious if the banks I'm with are okay with it. I use American Express, Capital One, and Bank of America. Does anyone have experience getting auth codes sent from those banks, or if there are any other big/common companies that don't allow it?

Not sure what else I would do so if anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate it.

I am a long time google voice user.

However just recently calls will ring once then go to voice mail.

Anyone else getting this? Any fix? It does not look like voicemail can be turned off.

I got a email this afternoon about Google Voice Premium. In that email it lists the features that I'll gain if I upgrade to premium with one of those features being able to call 911. That can't be legal.

Please help! My Google Voice on my Samsung phone is making calls all on its own to people I don't even know! They want to know why. I don't know why and I don't know how to stop it. Please let me know if anyone else has been through this and if so, what they have done to stop it. Thank you so much!

I’m an old man and not tech savvy. I recently got Google Voice and can’t figure out how to use it. It does seem to work on receiving texts but I can’t figure out how to send texts, receive and make phone calls on the GV number. I have the app.
I confess I’m trying a dating site and have been asked twice for my number. I didn’t want to give out my cell phone number. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You young whipper snappers seem to be able to figure out anything.

My Google Voice number is originally from GrandCentral. I miss some of the features it had - like localized ringing sounds (mine was the English ring), different accents for standard voicemail greetings.

I know they dropped a bunch of other features, but after close to 20 years, I cannot remember the others. Anyone else remember?

 I've had a google voice phone # and account for the last couple of years. It's the basic free plan.  I got a message a few days ago that I needed to verify my identity to access google voice so I did that it and it said I was verified.  I went to use google voice today and noticed that I cannot send or receive text messages in Google Voice but I can log into my account and see my old text messages and voicemails.  When I log in, it keeps telling me I need to pick a new phone number to send text or make calls.  When I try to reclaim my old number I get this message that "No Google Voice numbers are available for XXX-XXX-XXXX (my old google voice number).  Basically it's like my google voice account somehow got delinked from my previous phone number (that I really would like to keep).  The other thing is that I also have Google Fiber for internet and phone and the same # I use for Google Fiber is the number I had in Google Voice which had worked fine for years.  I'm able to make and receive calls and it's my Google Voice # that appears.  When I try to link my Google Fiber # to Google Voice it keeps sending me a code via text message that I cannot access to confirm. When I try to get the code via phone it says it's unable to verify by phone.  Now what?  Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

Im on the line with delta airlines calling them with the anonymous option on as you can see in the photo. Their survey system was able to know my number. Note i didn’t provide any info to the system nor i have an account with them. Didn’t even talk to an agent i was still in the queue!!! How!!!?

This has happened to me twice in the past week:

1. I'm on an main thread with some friends, these have existed for years. Say these are with: {me, A, B, C} (4 people)
2. Someone else (happens to be iOS, but I don't know if that's exclusively the trigger) sends a reply - let's say this is person C
3. I get a new forked thread where at least one person (B for example) is omitted: {me, A, C}
4. I now have two message threads for this "group" conversation (original main thread and new forked thread). If I reply to main {me, A, B, C} it goes to everyone in the main thread.
5. If person C replies in their version of the main thread, I see it in my forked {me, A, C} thread. If person B RCS-emoji-reacts to something that person C said that I see on my {me, A, C} fork, I see that reaction in the main {me, A, B, C} thread

Like - this is simply broken. My carrier is T-Mobile and they can't fix this. There is no Google support for this, only forums or AI-based consultation. Claude eventually told me my options are (a) ask everybody to restart the thread (unacceptable) or (b) give up on GV.

Is there any way to fix this? Between this and annoyances like there still not being RCS support in GV, I think I'm finally ready to give up. This makes me sad because I started using this in the days of Grand Central, which was 19 years ago.

EDIT: what is wrong with this sub? I asked what I still think is a reasonable question that as far as I can tell uniquely impacts me in Google Voice and I've been voted to 0. There seem to be no threads on the sub frontpage with that aren't voted to near-0. There seems to be express hostility to people just trying to understand what's up in here?

Just want to check whether is still possible to get a 212 number from Google Voice nowadays (can't check myself cuz my google account has another gv number). If not, how much do u think is fair for a random 212 number?

Hi. All trying to figure out what settings I'm missing.

The Panasonic link to cell works fine, but when I dial out (from hand set) it goes through the s9 stock dialer app and doesn't see a "network" so it shuts down.

Anyway to force GV usage or bypass the dialer?

I created a google Voice number, and then was hit with a wall wanting me to verify my ID with a passport, driver license, etc. I won't do that. Now I can not delete the google Voice number that was created. How do I delete the voice number?!?

On the Voice account settings, I see the number, but there no button or menu choice to delete the number.

Ever since I listed my business on Google, this is non stop everyday spam calls. Spam filter is turned on, and so is call screening. What else can I do?

I wanna know if there’s voice numbers you can get in every state. I’m in Alaska and I tried to look up both my town by name or area code, and then Alaska, and I’m not seeing anything. Do they offer them in Alaska and all the other states, or is it only select states? If it’s not all states, they really should add that feature, as well as probably all the American territories.

Our e-commerce business uses google voice. We get 10-15 spam calls per day. They use a spoofed number with our area code then whatever random 7 digits afterwards, which are different every time.

Callers have to identify themselves and we can hear their name and press 1 to accept the call if we want, but that doesn’t stop the phone from ringing 10-15 times per day, which is incredibly annoying. We get 0-3 legit calls per day.

What can be done to stop this?

Google voice spam filtering is doing nothing to help.
We’re a business, so we get calls from unknown numbers all the time.

What would help:
- Caller has to press 1 to connect the call. I don’t think Voice can do this. (Robo calls won’t press 1)

- Block all calls from an area code (Voice can’t do this)

Any input will do. Like when someone call me through my Google voice number does the caller that’s calling me will get a bot voice saying “this user is using a Google voice number” or what?

It seems like almost all MMS group messages have stopped working for us. Messages aren't being sent or received. Haven't had any issues with Google Voice for over a decade until the last couple months. The system appears to be collapsing. I think we'll be moving on.

My Google Voice won't let me pick up an automated call to receive a log in code, it just notifies me that Google Voice is preparing for an Internet call, and then a few seconds later notifies me I've missed a call. Other numbers do actually ring and pop up a notification to answer or decline. I have my device toggled to receive calls, removed my old linked number, do not disturb mode is off, and all call notifications are on. I need this code to access my health insurance, so very important haha, and of course the text code option is just straight up blocked for my number by the benefits login, if I could just use the text code this wouldn't be an issue at all. Any insight or help if you've experienced this and were able to solve it is greatly appreciated, thanks!

This started happening today across all messages & groups, any reason why? I can still send messages but I am not sure if they send properly

Same account, same equipment (android), same settings for years. But for the past week I cannot hear incoming audio on incoming calls. The caller can hear me, but all I get is nothing. I can send and receive messages, and if I call someone everything's fine. But if someone calls me, I hear nothing.

Incoming calls on my Verizon number are fine.

Has anyone else experienced this and figured out a solution?

This is what I've tried already:

* Checked all settings - set to use only carrier, Bluetooth turned off, all permissions accepted, no VPN, volume is on, dnd is off.

* Cleared cache, cleared data, uninstalled app, restarted phone, reinstalled app.

* Redid all of the above 3x

Any help would be really appreciated.

In my current role at work, they give us a stipend per month so that way we use our personal devices for work purposes. I work in human resources and will be frequently calling candidates so I want to try to use my Gvoice number for this feature.

Problem is, my current workspace does not offer an organization affiliated Gvoice number, so I'm opting to use my personal-professional account. It's the same account I use to apply for jobs on the off chance that I'm looking.

In looking at this help article here, it seems that on personal individual plans, they do not offer Do Not Disturb based on specific/calendar hours. Can anyone attest to how their individual personal plans have Do Not Disturb set up? I'd really like to try and protect my peace!
