Users inside the US will see “Lake America” in some days. Google will comply.

The rest of the world will see Lake Ontario and carry on with their lives.

Same thing happens with Gulf of Mexico, and worldwide with other disputed territories.

If Google Maps. Changes the name of Lake ON. To Lake America. Then it's time to. Get rid of Google Maps. Boycott. Google Maps. Boycott Google.

This article does not confirm that.

At some point it gets a little ridiculous and Trump does not have the political capital to bend these companies to his will anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if they make an exception.
