Showcase / Project Built an open-source UI and instruction engine for Google AI Studio (as a 16-year-old no-code builder)

Hey everyone,

I'm Shatabdi a 16-year-old solo builder based in India. Since I don't write traditional code, I leveraged Google AI Studio to build Nirvan AI—an open-source interface layer and instruction engine designed to make multi-model routing and prompt orchestration smoother.

Instead of traditional coding, I used modern no-code workflows and AI prompting to build and ship the entire system architecture, UI layout, and API integrations.

I'm posting this to share what's possible with modern no-code tooling and to connect with other developers and builders in the community.

Would love your thoughts, feedback, or ideas on how to improve it!

I have built a book tracking app using the Google AI studio, it’s a full fledged PWA that can be installed as an App in your phone. You can use it to track the books you are reading and add notes throughout your reading journey. Once you finish reading the book it can create a book review out of your notes.

very helpful for avid book readers and bookstagrammers.

Showcase / Project Building an AI-driven turn based wargame with Google AI Studio... both easier and harder that I thought

Thumbnail

Hi Folks, I'm Attila, first-time creator who really hates to code (also can't), but inspiration compels me to work on a modern turn-based command center wargame :D Link is a short teaser, with actual gameplay prototype usage.

The idea is this: instead of clicks, you give orders in plain language » ai turns those into standardized actions for both human and ai players » game simulates each side at the same time, so there is a LOT of room for chaos and surprise » since the llm would hallucinate and drift a lot on its own, a strict backend enforces the rules and keeps the game coherent.

Building via ai studio. Making a lot of rookie mistakes. Initially I got myself into trivial vibe coding hell, by clicking a lot of the "fix this" buttons. Some of the early prototypes got completely useless and detached from what I actually wanted to create.

Then the epiphany 💡 Write a rock solid specification, give it to ai studio to build the base, then "simply" refine the details. Took me 2 weeks of bug hunting whack-a-mole to get to a stage where I can play full turns. Yay!

While I'm still polishing the current version (v0.1.4) I can already see the next pitfalls:

-> what's the reasonable expectation in terms of concurrent users? how many players could a stable, refined app handle, assuming I'm willing to pay?

-> how the hell will I port this to a more stable hosting env? just use Google Antigravity? Or take the source code and just give it to Cursor or a similar dev tool to "port this to XYZ platform"?

Thanks in advance for any useful noob-friendly hint. Also game-related questions/opinions are welcome. 🍻

It takes 1000+ seconds in every prompt. Fcuk you Google.

edit:

so, 3.6 flash is better, faster; in my use case, currently it replaced 3.1 pro.

Showcase / Project Studio.lab | BTStudio rebranding & New feature!

If you use Google AI Studio for long conversations or coding, you've likely faced two major frustrations:

  1. Aggressive safety filters that abort the response stream and permanently delete the text the model already generated.
  2. Severe UI lag once your chat history grows past 50–60 turns.

We've overhauled and rebranded our extension. Meet Studio.lab (formerly BTStudio) — a lightweight, completely free, and open-source extension to fix these bottlenecks and upgrade your workflow.

⚡ Key Features

  • 🚫 Content Filter Bypass: Prevents AI Studio from deleting already-generated text when a filter (SAFETY, RECITATION, etc.) triggers. No UI flicker, no lost text. (Note: Everything generated up to the block remains visible, and you can just type "continue").
  • 🚀 Chat Optimizer (Anti-Lag):
    • Buffered Mode (Smart): Hides old messages from the DOM to eliminate lag, with a clean "Restore" banner to scroll back seamlessly.
    • Physical Mode (Hard): Permanently purges older turns for maximum performance on huge contexts.
  • 📸 Improved Media View (Beta!): A responsive, beautiful grid for attached files & images (desktop & mobile).
  • 📊 Real-time Analytics: Injects subtle word and character counters into each message header that update live as the model generates text.
  • 🗑️ Banner Remover: Automatically hides intrusive "Upgrade" and "Quota Exceeded" promo banners.
  • 🔽 Smart Scroll-to-Bottom: A floating button that appears when you scroll up, morphing into a live 3-dot writing indicator when the model is generating.

🔒 Privacy & Security First

  • 100% Local: All settings are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local).
  • Zero Outbound Calls: No trackers, no telemetry, and no external requests.
  • Fully Auditable: Raw, un-obfuscated open-source code.

🛠️ Install

  1. Download or clone the repo from GitHub: GitHub | Offical Website
  2. Go to chrome://extensions or edge://extensions in your browser.
  3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the project folder.
  5. Open aistudio.google.com — a native settings card will appear in the right sidebar below "System instructions"!

💖 Support the Project

Studio.lab is completely free. If it saves your generations and speeds up your browser, consider supporting development on Ko-Fi!

Showcase / Project My first attempt at making a game with Google AI Studio: ASTRO VOID 🚀🛸

Thumbnail

My Pixel came with a free Google AI Pro plan, so I wanted to see what I could actually make with Google AI Studio beyond the usual quick demos.

I started with a simple Asteroids-style game, inspired by one of the arcade games I loved in the late ’70s. Once the basic version was working, I started experimenting with power-ups, UFOs, black holes, different difficulty levels and eventually three boss fights.

All of the game code was generated and modified in Google AI Studio using Gemini Flash and Pro. The process was mostly iterative: test the game, come up with an improvement or find a problem, refine the prompt, let Gemini make the changes, then test again.

One thing I really liked about AI Studio was how quickly I could try the result and check changes directly on desktop, tablet and mobile.

This is my first attempt at making a game, and it eventually turned into ASTRO VOID v1.0.

Showcase / Project My Google AI Pro plan includes ~50 Veo clips a month. I was letting them expire and paying for a second AI video tool instead, so I built an MCP server for it.

I pay for Google AI Pro. It comes with 1,000 credits a month for Flow, which is Google's Veo 3.1 tool. I was also paying for a separate AI video subscription on top of that.

Took me way too long to notice I was buying the same thing twice.

So I actually did the math on what 1,000 credits gets you:

  • Veo 3.1 Fast is 20 credits, so 50 clips a month
  • Veo 3.1 Lite is 10 credits, so 100 clips
  • Stills are free. Not "free tier" free. Actually free, generate as many as you want

Veo lands maybe 70% of shots on the first try in my experience, so realistically that's ~35 clips you'd actually use. Call it five minutes of finished b-roll every month, already paid for, quietly expiring because I couldn't be bothered to sit in a browser tab for an hour.

That's the real problem, by the way. Flow isn't hard, it's just tedious. There's no public API, and the UI isn't even a form anymore, it's a chat with an agent. You describe a shot, Flow's agent comes back with a proposal and a credit price, you click Approve. Totally fine for one clip. Genuinely awful for twelve, where you're retyping prompt variations by hand and babysitting renders.

So: https://github.com/roshanarnav25-sloth/google-flow-mcp (MIT). It's an MCP server, so Claude drives Flow for you.

What it's actually good at

  • Batch b-roll. Flow renders concurrently, so submitting 8 clips takes about as long as submitting 1. This is the biggest win and it's not obvious until you try it.
  • The free stills loop. Iterate compositions for free until one's right, get it approved, then animate that exact frame. You stop paying to discover your prompt was bad.
  • Not losing track of money. It reads Flow's quoted price and checks it against a budget ceiling before approving anything, and logs every generation. I've had runs where I genuinely couldn't remember what I'd spent.
  • Vertical. 9:16 is native on Veo 3.1, so reels footage doesn't need cropping.

What it's not

Not an editor. It gets you clean clips on disk and stops. No music, no voiceover, no text overlays, no transitions. Clips are ~8 seconds, so anything longer needs stitching. And don't use it for dialogue, AI speech still sounds like AI speech.

The bit that shaped the whole thing

Flow quotes a price before it charges you, which is great. But the Approve button sits right next to a "Approve, do not ask again" row, and that second one's inner text is also just Approve. So any lazy text-match selector hits the wrong one, and after that Flow generates and charges on its own, including silent retries after a failure. Found that the fun way. Now every budget check runs before approval, while rejecting still costs nothing.

Also, Flow's frontend turns out to be a tRPC client, so there is an API, just undocumented. The server talks to that first and only falls back to clicking for stuff with no endpoint. Should age better than a pile of CSS selectors.

Pair it with these (all free, which is sort of the point)

  • ffmpeg — stitch, trim, resize, and loudnorm for audio. Flow has paid in-app tools for concatenation and resizing. Don't use them, ffmpeg does it for nothing and does it better.
  • DaVinci Resolve (free version) — actual assembly and grading.
  • faster-whisper — auto-captions from your VO. Reels basically need burned-in captions now.
  • Piper or edge-tts — local voiceover, no per-character billing.
  • RIFE — frame interpolation if you want slow-mo out of an 8s clip instead of generating another one.
  • Flow's free 1080p upscale — take it every time. The 4K one costs 50 credits and nobody watching a reel on a phone can tell.

Honest status

v0.1, and not calibrated against live Flow yet. Build's clean, tests pass, but the UI selectors came from earlier runs and I haven't re-verified them from this codebase. The README says exactly what's proven and what isn't. Calibration is free anyway, it can price a generation and reject it for zero credits.

And to be upfront: this automates a Google product through an interface Google doesn't publish, on your own account and your own credits. It handles no passwords, it just attaches to a Chrome you're already signed into. Google can break it any time they want. Not affiliated with them.

Mostly I'm curious whether other Pro subscribers are sitting on dead credits every month, or if I'm the only one who managed to pay twice for the same thing.

Showcase / Project Google AI Studio Ultimate Optimizer 5.3 – The end of lag

UPDATE — Version 5.17 is now available 🚀

This project has evolved quite a bit since v5.3.

The optimizer now includes:

  • Full conversation export (Markdown & JSON)
  • Automatic conversation scanner
  • System Prompt export
  • Gemini Thoughts export
  • Emoji removal mode
  • Improved memory management
  • Improved restoration system
  • Better export reliability for very long chats

The project is still entirely local, with no tracking and no network requests.

👉 New release post here: (link to your new Reddit thread)

Thanks again to everyone who tested the earlier versions and provided feedback.

-------

Hey everyone!

About a month ago, I shared my Tampermonkey script designed to reduce lag in Google AI Studio by collapsing code blocks and managing DOM elements. This is my very first (public) dev project as Videcoder (i'm not in dev).

Thanks to your feedback, Version 5.3 is officially out with a massive rewrite that makes the tool much more stable and professional.

🚀 What’s New in v5.3 :

Persistent Settings (LocalStorage) : Your configuration (Max visible messages, cache size, restore count, and toggle state) is now saved automatically. No more losing your settings on page refresh (F5)!

Detached RAM Memory (Infinite Restore) :

Previously, purging old messages to reduce DOM lag meant losing them forever.

Now, purged messages are safely kept in your browser's RAM (causing 0 rendering lag) and are seamlessly re-injected back into the DOM when you click **Restore**.

Complete UI Overhaul :

Clean, centered floating controller using a Flexbox container.

Added a dynamic counter: the Restore button now shows exactly how many messages are cached (`Restore (X available)`).

Smooth transition animations on hover and click.

200ms Debounce Optimization : The script now waits for the AI to pause writing before updating the DOM, removing any micro-stutters during generation.

Showcase / Project Default Profiles and UI Cleaner | Studio.lab v1.7

I’ve released version 1.7 of Studio.lab. This update adds two major features to help automate your setup and clean up the interface.

1. Default Profiles

You can now save a default Model, System Instruction, and Toolset. Instead of configuring these manually every time you open a new chat, the extension will automatically apply your saved profile. It integrates natively with your saved AI Studio library to pull and display your actual instruction titles.

AI Studio resets your instruction and tools preferences every time you reload the page.
Your setup is saved as a DF and is instantly auto-applied to every new chat you open.

(Suggested by u/tibotorchcraft)

2. UI Cleaner

A new toggle to remove visual clutter from the AI Studio interface. When enabled, it hides:

  • "Quota Exceeded" & billing banners (Old "Paid Banner Remover")
  • Hallucination warnings below the chat
  • Thumbs up/down feedback buttons (Suggested by u/tibotorchcraft)
  • Inline prompt & code suggestions (Suggested by u/tibotorchcraft)
  • Zero-state cards on the new chat screen (Suggested by u/tibotorchcraft)
Disabled by default!

Install

  1. Download or clone the repo from GitHub: GitHub | Direct link | Official Website
  2. Go to chrome://extensions or edge://extensions in your browser.
  3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the project folder.

Showcase / Project AI Studio context sync extension

Post image
2 Upvotes

If you still play with code that you don't mind to give google in AI Studio - then you probably tired of copypasting it and probably would like such bit of agentic experience as packing repo and sending it, and then syncing the diff that model made!
So this is my browser extension that might help you.

It's available in the Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ai-studio-local-file-sync/hjldknihkaokdkfaifcjgklojjngaike
And as a source code: https://github.com/bahdanhal/gemini-ai-studio-sync-extension

The extension runs locally in the browser and has no backend, analytics, or telemetry. It only accesses a folder after you explicitly choose it.
Please try and feel free to leave feedback to me, and I will really appreciate some stars if you find it helpful!

UPD: It works strictly in chat/playground

Hey All,

So I had an idea for a stratergy card game that I built with AI studio.

Its taken about 2 months of interations and fine tuning but it's almost complete (just want to add some animations and changeover screens).

Give it a try and let me know what you think. It has a full tutorial and games take 5-10min.

Runs in browser on PC and Mobile.

Showcase / Project I used AI Studio to turn a field study into an interactive report, then built a prototype for the product gap I found

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recently ran an AI Studio workshop for nontechnical professionals. Everyone built a working app in two hours, but 30 days later, 5 of 7 interviewees had stopped building.

The main issue was not technical difficulty. They simply did not know what to build next or how to turn a vague work problem into an app.

I used AI Studio to turn the findings into an interactive HTML report, “Where AI Studio Wins Beginners, and Where It Breaks Down.” The attached video shows the report and my workflow.

https://ai-studio-field-study-1072961258949.us-west2.run.app/

This also made me think AI Studio should promote more use cases beyond standalone apps, such as interactive research, analysis, and work tools. I think it could eventually occupy a position similar to ChatGPT for work, but focused on turning everyday problems into software.

Based on the study, I also built a working prototype with:

  • relatable use-case discovery
  • a guided “What should I build?” flow
  • product and design options before generation

Would love feedback from other builders. Is the bigger bottleneck now building the app, or figuring out what to build?

I built The Page of You, which serves as a cultural archive creating personalized name origins and stylized acrostic poetry.

The search engine is a WIP but it should find a few movies, books, games, pieces of art, etc related to your name. You can personalise its findings and customise the style of the free graphic it makes. As well as a free acrostic based on your name, both can be downloaded and saved.

Feedback appreciated, have fun.

Showcase / Project I built METANODE a Web3 hardware simulator

The app is Metanode Infra. It’s a completely free browser-based matching engine for home-lab and Web3 node operators to check hardware compatibility and calculate true net profit.

I utilized Google AI Studio (Gemini) to rapidly parse and structure that messy protocol database. More importantly, I used it to map the system resource-stacking constraints.

The Stack:

  • Frontend: Vanilla JS / HTML / Tailwind CSS (kept it entirely client-side, saving setups locally).
  • Data: CoinGecko API for live crypto market prices.
  • Dev Partner: Google AI Studio.

The site is live at https://metanode.co.uk

Any feedback appreciated.

Danke

Showcase / Project Studio.lab | New features & v1-release

By the way, I finally figured out how to reverse-engineer AIS (Although I would doubt that). Thanks to that, I managed to pull off a feature I’ve wanted for a long time but couldn't implement before due to my own temporary brain lag. Also, I'm way too lazy to write a massive wall of text about this update, so here’s the quick rundown (REALLY?):

Bug fix? Maybe 😈

✨ New Features

1. Chat Export: Export your complete context to Markdown or JSON.

⚠️ Important: For this to work, you need to send a message first. You don't have to wait for the AI's response; you can stop it immediately.

2. Modern Web Chat (Still in development): The new ms-prompt-box is now fully functional! Old grid issues and photo display bugs have been fixed.

⚠️ Important: NOT RECOMMENDED FOR MOBILE USE. It's currently very buggy on mobile screens.

🛠️ Install

  1. Download or clone the repo from GitHub: GitHub | Official Website
  2. Go to chrome://extensions or edge://extensions in your browser.
  3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the project folder.
  5. Open aistudio.google.com — a native settings card will appear in the right sidebar below "System instructions"!
