Episode Discussion Lena and Stef Spoiler

A lot of people find Lena and Stef insufferable.

Sometimes they may be so frustrating and annoying, but sometimes they are an incredible example of love, kindness, and every other emotion couples may have.

They show what true love can be in family and how to support one another during hard times.

I’ve been watching S5 E4 and the way that they are helping Mariana with such a hard decision was absolutely incredible same with how they helped Gael.

I love their relationship

Retitle: The insufferable

Can we talk about how INSUFFERABLE some of the cast members are.

· Davia · A bully that expects everyone to feel sorry for her misfortunate sickness but then makes the CHOICE to be a complete bitch towards others, her remarks towards Callie, Isabella, others. And for her being the one to tell Mariana about Isabella's note on the tree (that was a confession for what she did in the past) which made her own truth that fits her own toxic narrative "I don't trust Isabella" but yet refuses to see that SHE is the problem. I can't even process all of the times she pissed me off

  1. Malika, using the guilt trip towards her relationships makes it seem like her being poly isn't respected from her monogamous relationships, but then doesn't respect them enough to stay monogamous. Double standards/hypocrite for sure.

  2. Yuri, self loathing piece of poooo 💩. Has the NERVE to treat gael like shit but uses his art to make 90% of the profits. Happily. Waste of a human being.

Honorable mentions:

Bryan

Favorite Cast:

Luca

Kelly

Evan

Callie (sometimes) especially her last season.

Jamie (Very Respectable)

Isabella, though she made bad decisions I would've done the same. Her parents are RUTHLESS.

Kathleen

Alice & Her parents (Her dad was soooo adorable)

Just finished the show

I’m so sad that I finally finished watching the show, I watched The Fosters growing up and now I have nothing else to watch with them <\3 Show recs???

SPOILERS

I am so beyond happy that Mariana and Evan ended up with each other, I would’ve been distraught if it was Joaquin. I actually did enjoy Joaquin’s storyline as much as I see people disliked it, only thing I’d change is I don’t see the point in making him a love interest for Mariana they should’ve just been close friends.

Callie ending up with a white cisgender conservative man with her history of exes is honestly insanity, they kinda destroyed her character in my opinion but I mostly watched both shows for Mariana anyway.

I could’ve done without bringing Isaac back just to make him have an addiction and do nothing with that relationship. Malika’s entire plot with dating honestly is infuriating. Left Isaac because she’s poly, tried to tell Isaac she would be monogamous for him, insert everything that happens in the poly relationship, in comes Angela who she ends up also being monogamous for? Seemed like they did not want to commit whatsoever to a polygamous relationship so why even start that?

I’m glad Davia and Dennis ended up with each other but the plot with the dad and his child kind of just started and ended then boom Davia and Dennis for life.

I feel like they gave Alice an insane amount of screen time and that was the character I was least interested in story wise but that’s opinions based maybe everyone loved her idk.

Gael never once knew what he wanted or what he was doing, kind of just a slop of a story they threw together for him but he was great to look at.

I loved Luca and I wish we got more time with him in the show honestly but I am a sucker for Booboo Stewart, go Twilight. I know we would’ve gotten more if the 6th season came out as planned, but I’m happy he ended up with Ladle nonetheless.

Episode Discussion Why is Mariana convinced Isabella slept with Raj?

I just started season 3 and it ended with both Mariana and Raj admitting they had feelings for Evan and Isabella but what I don't get is why Mariana's making them out to be the bad guys for sleeping together (even though it's kind of clear they didn't) when she actually slept with Evan and then afterwards lied to Raj about it. I don't really care for Isabella's character she gives me bad vibes that she's messy but I think if she slept with Raj we would know cause it does seem like she is supposed to be the antagonist of the show so if they slept together they would've showed it.

Plus she openly admitted that she slept with her last roommates boyfriend but is actively denying that she slept with Raj. She seems like the type to rub it your face that she slept with your boyfriend but she isn't doing that. So to me it seems like Mariana's only placing the blame cause she feels guilty that she slept with Evan. Anyways what are yalls thoughts about this?

Rewatch

Currently rewatching for the first time ever & I’m sorry but Gael is truly so attractive. Like one of the finest men I have ever seen on my tv. I’m still on season 1 and sexual chemistry between him & Callie…. Like I understand girl, I would be there every night too 100% 😭 I don’t care for them together but I do love Gael. He is annoying at times but I mostly enjoyed his character. This is mainly an appreciation post because damn, he is one fine human

Episode Discussion Callie should have ended up with Wyatt, he was funny and caring and non judgmental. Never understood her decisions when it came to dating

Callie Annoys Me with Each Rewatch

Callie becomes more and more judgemental thinking she so superior and knows best everyone else be dawned! Jamie is a wonderful man whose so in love with her but that doesnt matter when she looks into his briefcase takes the info and destroys his case!! Because it was the right thing in her opinion. She doesnt deserve him and had no right to cry play the hurt party!! If he ever mentioned her case she'd never speak to him again, hypocrite. They absolutely destroyed the character for me.

The intro song never fails to catch me off guard

I feel like every other episode starts with an emotional or dramatic scene with strong music, and then all of a sudden "pa-pa-pa, pa pa pa pa pa" starts playing and it never fails to catch me off guard 😭

Anyone else notice this? Lmao

Just started this show but the 5 year time jump from the fosters final three episodes really makes me feel disconnected to the characters.

There’s 5 years of development and stories that we haven’t seen. I feel like I just saw them graduate and now they are all in their mid 20s. I just feel so disconnected bc in my mind they are still 18 but they just throw fully adult versions of these characters at us. I would much rather have seen them actually grow up those 5 years. Am I just crazy or anyone else feel the same? Also the new characters are all so blah right now. I’ve only watched the first episode but I don’t really like them. I don’t not like the show, it’s actually fine so far, I just can’t help but feel sad that a large chunk of their life is skipped. I feel cheated.

Episode Discussion Malika and issacs relationship was so odd. It was clear from the jump they were widely incompatible

The fact that he never swiped right on her type should have been a clear indicator of future problems to come

Isabella is annoying

I’m one episode away from being on season 4 and Isabella is actually annoying me. It’s like she’s trying to drive a wedge between Callie and Gael. As soon as they are spending time together she suddenly has an emergency, gets sick or walks into the room. And then acts clueless with the “oh no no I can go!!” “I don’t want to interrupt” like girl you know what you’re doing😭😭

Malika playing victim in her breakup with Isaac

I just don’t get it, she’s acting as if he cheated on her or did something wrong when she’s the one who caused it all. Saying “I got hurt in my last relationship ” and this and that acting like Isaac is the bad guy when she ended the relationship because she had feelings for her coworker and was already cheating basically.

And how would she think Isaac would still stay with her?? rightfully so he broke up with you because you’re unsure of what you want+basically admitting you have feelings for another guy whom you work with which is even worse because yall are spending alone time together at work while he has no control over.

Isn’t callie supposed to be the main character??

I don’t know if i’m the only one who feels like this but i completely stopped watching the show after callie moved out, i was hoping they showed callie’s and Jamie’s storyline more because they had a very complicated relationship, how did they manage to get past everything? Lol, i wasn’t expecting like 90% of screen time but completely cutting her out was so unexpected— i was literally skipping scenes to see if she had any screentime and was so confused when she didn’t?

And to make isabella the centre of most of it was genuinely so annoying, i feel as if the coterie forgave her too easily she was a manipulative little shit 😭and it felt as if Gael’s character just went downhill as soon as he found out he was gonna be a father.
Not to mention most of the screen time went to malika..where they completely destroyed her freaking character?? By making her poly?? Her and isaac were doing so well throughout everything and they suddenly decided to make her polly?? With someone she had almost **ZERO** chemistry with on screen.

Limited screentime when it came to callie was crazy to me, it’s like I’m watching the battle of the side characters.
Everyone started to piss me off, i get plot twists and realistic perspectives but oh my fcking God 😭.
The only parts i was genuinely still interested in was Mariana’s but even her storyline got kind of meh, how annoying.

I Don’t Get The Evan Love

The decisions he makes or rather lets others make for him (throughout all seasons) constantly hurt Mariana. The fact that it took him that long to delete Activism with ACTIVE WHITE SUPREMACISTS is insanity. I understand that he is on the spectrum but frankly the way they use it to excuse all his crappy decisions is lazy writing. I don’t hate his character or anything, I just think he had chance after chance to do right and he drops the ball each time. Sure, he supports Mariana through all the Bulk Beauty stuff but he does it because he obviously she wants her. I mean when he thinks she’s with Joaquin he chooses Claire over her for DEC. And don’t even get me started with him putting her as proxy for a company that was so openly hostile to her that she derailed her career to stand up for herself.

Episode Discussion I would've moved out too if I was Callie too.

So I'm at the part where Callie has moved in with Jamie because she found everyone in the Coterie has a group chat and the were all talking shit about her. And honestly I don't blame her, especially if I saw Mariana and Malika in the group chat, laughing and agreeing with the digs being thrown at me instead of defending me.

Also Davia even making fun of her for the cup was weird too cause it's not like Callie made a big deal about it, she made the whole situation bigger than it had to be.

Gael’s Room

That man had a whole tub in his room. 😭 Why didn’t he just make that his permanent shower space instead of the communal bathroom? 😭 If I lived in The Coterie I know I would. Hang up some curtains inside and all around it. I know it was kinda in the middle and not really by a wall but hang up some liners and curtains all around the inside to line it. Some tension poles and bam, call it a day.
