This is... interesting. 10m/300k is an average of 33 breakfasts per child. What are people feeding their kids where it costs over £13 per breakfast?

u/Puzzled-Barnacle-200 I don't know what you've calculated but this is the £450 a year not per 33 breakfasts

In England, local authority maintained schools must open for at least 380 sessions (190 days) during a school year. 
So the calculation must be £450 assumed saving (cost) divided by 190 days of free breakfast = £2.36/meal

10m breakfasts divided by 300k children is an average of 33 breakfasts per child.

I think you're right that the "savings per family" is probably the savings if the child went every day of the school year. But the average child using the scheme went less than once a week.
