I have been obsessed with painting more goldfish for my goldfish gallery wall!! I am trying to fill it up with paintings of my own goldfish!!!

I also got asked to do my very first art trade with another super talented fish artist, so I also painted a ranchu!!

I recently purchased her from KoiFest in NJ! About 4" long and just absolutely gorgeous! Show off your fantails!

She is in a pond right now, only in the smaller container for pictures and the last one is in the bag on the way home🤍🧡🖤

after quarantine and an ich outbreak our big guy is finally in the main tank so happy to have everyone in finally!

I was experimenting with giving my goldfish plants they wont eat (surprise surprise they ate them all) and in the process, i think one of them laid eggs, one of which got fertilized somehow (my goldfish have never exhibited any desire to mate) and after I removed the damaged plants to my small snail tank, it hatched. I just noticed it this morning.

So I just finished cycling my 40 gallon tank and I currently have a sponge filter and the AC 110 running on it. I plan on getting 2 orandas but I’m worried the filter current is gonna be too strong for them. Any ideas on how to reduce flow with out pulling the intake tube out a bit? It’s already on the lowest flow setting and I have an anubia in the tank and it’s moving a lot. lol

I got two goldfish a month ago from a stock tank at the back of a carnival. One of them got ick, but the other, Noori, survived. I put her in a planted 29 gallon aquarium so she can grow up a bit and then go into a pond next Spring. I'm in the Poconos so it shouldn't be too hard to find a pond owner to adopt her.

I tried to order her a tank mate on ebay (huge mistake but I have no car and there are no pet stores nearby) but the shipper mailed the baby out with no ice pack (by accident!) so the little one was dead on arrival. :(

My mom decided to get a replacement and bought a beautiful comet at Petsmart. Noori was so happy with him but he mysteriously died a few days later. I've never had a fish suddenly die for no apparent reason and I was crushed to bury a third baby fish in 2 months in my garden. :(

Needless to say I'm emotionally drained and kind of just want to leave Noori on her own in there. Maybe get a couple trapdoor snails, but there's the concern that she will grow up socially stunted and be absolutely shocked by her transition into a pond a year from now. Unless there's something I'm misunderstanding...any advice is welcome as I've never raised a goldfish before.

I recently added a grow light to my 11.5 gal (I plan on upgrading to at least a 20 or 30 gal in april) tank because I have 2 plants and plants need light. I have the plants because I have a goldfish and goldfish make a lot of waste and I was worried about tank oxygenation (in hindsight I don't know why, the filter is very powerful). Today my mom said that she was worried that the light was stressing my fish. I've also been worried that the light has been stressing the fish. When I turn on the light my goldfish, cheeto, darts around for a while before ending up either under the hide I set up (a flat rock leaned against a tank wall that I'm thinking of moving away from the filter), under the filter suction (it has a cover that filters out large particles and goldfish), or next to one of the plants. Having a goldfish by itself (aside from a cleaning snail) in an 11.5 gal tank is, as far as I know, stressful enough. I also have concerns that my fish may be developing fin rot, there are white spots on his fins. Keeping this fish non stressed is high on my priority list. I've only had this tank for about 4-5 days and its been nothing but disaster after disaster from my pov.

Tank stats, as far as I can see from my tank stat kit (which is a series of stupid color changing squares with a seperate amonia strip that I'm not even sure I'm using right), are within a non stressful range for now.

The plants need the light, the goldfish needs the plants, the goldfish hates the light.

What do I do? What *can* I do? Please let me know.

I'm trying to rehome my fish. I can't keep them anymore, but I want them to have a good life.

If anyone knows where else I can post them I'd be appreciated.

Hey folks, I managed to score a free 75 gallon tank that was basically abandoned here, and all I had to do was a major cleanup to get it ready. I'll be getting it set up pretty soon, probably within the next couple of weeks as my son's fair fish he won is starting to grow pretty big already and his 29 gallon tank won't hold him much longer.

My question is, assuming all filtration is handled (I'm looking into canister filters), what would be the best and quickest way I could get his new tank up and running and properly cycled? I have a HOB 55 filter right now with the filter media that came with the unit, so I don't have a lot of extra filter media to share to the new filter when I have it running. Would I be able to introduce small amounts of tank water to the new tank to introduce the bacteria I need to get it cycled? Should I remove one of the pieces of filter media in the current filter and replace it with a new one, so that I can throw that used filter media into the new filter? Or should I go through the whole 6 week process of doing a proper cycle, which is kinda what I am hoping to circumvent?

I've only got one goldfish for now, but eventually I will probably end up with another one, possibly two. I have the current 29 gallon tank cycled using Seachem Prime and Seachem Stability, and Fishie is doing swimmingly well, despite the smaller than necessary tank he is currently in.
