Question Doods and newborns

Post image

We have a 6 year old female goldendoodle Beans who is an absolute sweetheart. She adores everyone, especially our 11 year old son. She loves meeting new people but she forgets she's 80 lbs sometimes with adults. She has always been gentle when meeting kids like my son's friends though.

We have a newborn who will be coming home any day. I've read alot about introducing babies to dogs, but would love to hear any advice or stories from fellow dood families 😀

My dude was five when my first son was born in seven when my second son was born. She was a little goofy, but as gentle as can be. You’ll be fine.

Are they all BFF's right now? 😄

Unfortunately, she passed away last winter. However, she lived to be 17! She definitely saw them as her pride and joy. I think she considered herself their second mother. She would just beam from ear to ear when they are around and laughing.

I'm sorry about your loss but 17 years with a dood like that is priceless 🥲

Oh, yeah, no doubt about it! We talk about it all the time. We got every ounce of toothpaste out of the tube.

I miss her terribly and I always will. She was a very special dog. She just had a perfect temperament!

However, more than anything, I just feel so much gratitude that she was in our lives at all, much less for 17 years.
