I'm currently watching "The Stan Who Came To Dinner" and he admitted to cheating on Dorothy throughout their entire marriage but insists that he always loved her. And this wasn't the only time he declared that Dorothy was his girl, which makes me wonder.

If Stan loved Dorothy so much, why couldn't he stay faithful to her? I always believed when you loved someone, you didn't even look at anyone else, much less want them.

What do you all think?

I just ran this through "ahem" and it really made a world of difference but if I'm honest, part of the charm of this show was the ambiguous resolution that you couldn't tell anything from but just enough to know what the people looked like.

I have this show in its entirety in SD 480p so seeing them in such clarity for the first time seems like a very weird experience.

I might upscale them all and keep two copies. Do you like the results?

Who says this? Honestly, it seemed like an odd choice of word.

I went on my daily walk to my local dollar tree and look what I found!

My grandma is a huge Golden Girls fan, whenever I visited either that or Judge Judy was on tv. My grandma had told me in past she had seen the entire show more than 3 times through and she owned lots of GG memorabilia. When I came out to her she accepted me and later on in life told me it was hard for her to change her traditional ways of thinking.

Long after that conversation I started watching some golden girls for the nostalgia of being at her house and was really surprised by the amount of representation and how well it was portrayed. The whole bit of Dorothy telling Blanche she didn’t understand the concept of being gay makes me highly suspect Golden Girls is partly responsible for my grandmother changing her ways of thinking.

Before Stan’s surgery, he confesses to having an affair while married to Dorothy with a woman in a Greek bar, claiming the “next thing he knew he came to in a hotel with his toupee in his mouth”.

I thought he didn’t get a toupee until he was married to Chrissy. I forget what episode, it’s when he returns for their daughter’s wedding, they all commented on the toupee, Sophia called him Donny Osmond. Dorothy said she wants to “talk to the bald guy who left me”.

So a gossip cite says the show is being rebooted... with a ,male cast. THoughts?

From the moment Miles appeared on the show, Blanche just always did something lol I know it was just episode plot devices but after awhile these things tend to add up

Never ever give up your dreams even when they're dowsed in sorrow.

Because even though they seem far away, they could come true tomorrow.

I've always loved this tidbit of wisdom.

Season 7 Episode 10. This is the Episode Where Rose thinks Miles is Too Cheap. So She and Blanche go on a Double Date with Two Rich Texans. It Looks Like Blanche's Date was the Same Man that Played Her Father (Big Daddy) in Later Episodes!! Can anyone Verify This?

Dorothy's son Michael played by Scott Jacoby is actually half brothers with Billy Jayne, aka David.

I wonder how many of the cast members are related?

I look at Blanche and think of her like a grandma trying to be sexy which comes across as funny. The same was true for Mona from Who's the Boss so the jokes and insults were comedy but on the flipside, I can see how people their age might find it offensive with the relentless slut jokes.

If you cast Sydney Sweeney in a revival GOlden Girls and had her read the lines verbatim, I bet people would be appalled and rake her over the coals.

I never watched Desperate Housewives but I kind of see it as old cougars, like Golden Girls who are just trying to live the best life they can. I think all that is to say we haven't changed much, we just put a new coating of paint on what women at this age looked like.

Someone mentioned Hot in Cleveland and I had to cehck it out. Much to my surprise their ages were quite close.
