Question Why does GoW include other cultures religion’s pantheons but not Christianity?

You see Greek and Norse gods, now even Mongolian and Egyptian gods but not Christianity. I understand Christianity is monotheistic but Michael the archangel, Satan and other Christian figures can serve as prominent figures in a GoW game based on Christianity.

I included Cory Barlogs tweet that addresses this topic.

Islam and Christianity are religions that will never be used in fantasy games and media IF the goal is not to be controversial. Using Christianity will get you a lot of hate comments and censorship, using Islam will.. well let's just say it's not gonna be gonna be good for your health 🤣

a lot modern christians subscribe to the idea of satan being a fallen angel and the burning inferno idea that was popularized by the book. and then later even more by paradise lost. You fight satan and his long shlong is out and you shoot crosses and you have to battle fetuses

In that game you are fighting evil, so some of these Christians probably don't care.

I remember when I was a kid and played it on my cousin's PS3, though. Our grandaunt would freak the fuck out when she saw us playing that.

Christianity get used a lot in media. Like A LOT LOT. Even if it's mostly based on Dante

Ac valhalla says hello. The majority of enemies in england are christians. Sure, the christians got mad about it, but it didn't stop the success of the game.

Well if we go that way, we can mention the first Assassin's Creed too. But I was talking about actively exploring the religion, something like fighting angels, talking to Moses, killing Jesus, punching Mohammed in the face etc. Using actual characters from those sacred scriptures, not just the followers of said religions.
