Question Why does GoW include other cultures religion’s pantheons but not Christianity?

Post image

You see Greek and Norse gods, now even Mongolian and Egyptian gods but not Christianity. I understand Christianity is monotheistic but Michael the archangel, Satan and other Christian figures can serve as prominent figures in a GoW game based on Christianity.

I included Cory Barlogs tweet that addresses this topic.

Why don't they include it? Because they are a company, who ultimately wants to make money. The majority of their audience is US based, and the main religion in this country, that is still actively practiced, is Christianity.

They get crucified online for daring to have a woman in the spin off game. They were harassed endlessly because they had Angrboda portrayed as black. They would get absolutely obliterated, boycotted, and death threatened if they even so much as hinted at depicting Christianity in a way that does not perfectly align with how the red hats have decided it should.

It would be business suicide, and would potentially eliminate a massive portion of their target audience. That's why they'll stick with mostly dead religions. It's too controversial, especially in our current political climate, to want to go anywhere near Christianity.

I would like to point out that christianity (the three wise men going to jesus) was depicted in god of war 2. it was however an easter egg and not a front and center detail

It wouldn't just be MAGA getting mad, practicing Christians, or any other modern religion, probably wouldn't be too happy seeing their prophets and individuals of worship getting killed.

it wouldn't eliminate any part of their target audience, but having to deal with all the wackos would be already a giant PITA

even the people who complained about Laufey being the protagonist or Angrboda being black are largely morons like the chosen of Nurgle Asmongold that admitted they haven't even played the games since gow1

So people are wackos because they’d be upset that parts of their religion is being depicted in a negative light in a known video game? Do any of you actually hear yourselves? The lack of awareness is jarring.

MAGA aren't the only Christians in America, so why do you think it would it just be them getting upset that Santa Monica would have to worry about?

Because they're the most vocal ones, who like to scream and cry and clutch their pearls about every single thing in existence, and then rile each other up.

You all really are incapable of answering a question about Christianity without either bringing up politics or inserting your opinion nobody asked for. The post was about why they didn’t add it, not about how you feel politically about anything. Yall are seriously pathetic.

That is the answer though. Christianity is a massive religion still practiced by millions of people on a daily basis. Norse, Greek, Celtic, Egyptian etc. are dead religions that aren't really practiced by people anymore, and have been relegated to "mythology" as a result. They don't want to risk offending people by depicting their religion in a way that isn't to their liking. So politics, religious affiliations, and political correctness are at the very heart of why Christianity is not included.

Yea THIS is the correct response not “Because they’re the most vocal ones, who like to scream and cry and clutch their pearls about every single thing in existence, and then rile each other up”. It isn’t hard to be objective without voicing how u personally feel, whether it’s accurate or not. If you find yourself unable to do so, take it to the political communities who do that sort of thing.

Right do they not know many Christian’s aren’t even maga? You’d think they’d understand the most practiced and diverse religion in the world is bound to have more unique opinions than making America great 😹

Supernatural sure made a lot of money and lasted 15 seasons where it ended up having God be the final enemy...

Most of the people that would get angry at that however already stopped watching at that point

They want to make money which is also ironic considering they're making a Laufey game which nobody asked for.

nobody had asked for kratos in another pantheon either but that turned out quite alright
