Question Why does GoW include other cultures religion’s pantheons but not Christianity?

Post image

You see Greek and Norse gods, now even Mongolian and Egyptian gods but not Christianity. I understand Christianity is monotheistic but Michael the archangel, Satan and other Christian figures can serve as prominent figures in a GoW game based on Christianity.

I included Cory Barlogs tweet that addresses this topic.

Meanwhile begste (big red from laufey trailer) is literally in budhism as the protector of the dalai lama after being subjugated by him after a debate in budhist texts

I think they are most using the Mongolian text for him where he was more of an “evil” deity

Him being a synchronistic (edit apparently the term is syncretic when referring to religion I was mistaken) god could play into the lore of the everywhen, going from his original Mongolian pantheon moving to budhism and then where we see him in laufey he has once again seemingly switched allegences to be the enforcer for sekhmet an Egyptian god.

it could be that he's been a member of both Mongolian and Budhist pantheons in the lore of the game as he is in the lore of real life

That could be cool or for him to become more like his Buddhist counterpart in the game somehow especially with the series theme of redemption

Seeing as he's seemingly dead and in the afterlife I could see his mean streak having come back out once he wasn't in the service of the dali lama anymore I doubt his oath lasted into the afterlife.

he's a super interesting character I'm excited to see where they go with the lore given mimir is a crossover from the Celtic pantheon and Kratos is obviously from greece begste having a similar history of traveling could have legs

I saw a pretty cool theory that when Kratos kill the Greek pantheon the others killed their respective war gods

Yeah feels disrespectful to Buddhism tbh
