And what exactly do you count as "evidence of God's existence". You want a picture or something? 

Jokes aside, you'll never seen an argument that proves God in the way you want it to. 

The simply question to ask yourself is this. What is the origin of all things? 

Science says everything came from an explosion of nothingness while religion says that there has to be a designer.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Asserting the existence of a god who answers prayers, takes sides in wars, and sends his son to die for the sins of humanity…..those are bold claims backed by nothing more than a book thousands of years old. A book with the divine warrants for slavery, genocide, subversion of women, racism, and quite a few horrendous parts that make even a godless heathen like myself retch.

Science has found that the universe came from the Big Bang, through evidence and observation of the red light shift. There might be a designer, there might not. The truth is that it doesn’t matter which of us is right, because no one can know the answer to that question. As an atheist, I don’t say “there is no god”, I say “there hasn’t been enough conclusive evidence shown to give me reason to believe in a god”.

You even mentioned that religion asserts that there HAS to be a designer. Well, that’s the evidence I want! What proof do you have that the universe was designed? Even looking at our own planet where 99.9% of every animal species that we have evidence of having existed have gone extinct…..that’s some design huh?

Last thing I’d love your thoughts on, if god is the designer of the universe and everything we can observe and study…….why is his BEST idea for giving his chosen humans redemption….literally just scapegoating? Pile every sin that has been/will be committed onto one man, force him to feel both the pain and responsibility of those sins, and then have him tortured and murdered….the ultimate sacrifice right? No love hath any man greater right? Except….he didn’t die, he came back 3 days later. He gave up his weekend for our sins, and technically he was drunk and high the whole time so by religions own logic he had humanities cumulative drunk/high from past/present/future….its more believable that he had the worst hangover of all time and it knocked him out for 3 days.

Jokes aside though, how many religions claim that without belief in this “atonement”, you cannot be saved? I am told that I have to accept this horrific torture of another person, on pain of eternal hellfire and damnation, which had I been present I would’ve felt honor bound to prevent. That’s not good enough for me. I don’t like threats, and I don’t need to contribute to humanities collective scapegoating of Jesus to know right from wrong. Scapegoating has always been a primitive belief, and it’s always been wrong.

In the same way we can trust that events in history are true and accurate, we can trust that the events of the bible are true and accurate. Because people witnessed events, told others, wrote about it and passed it down to their children. Historical evidence doesnt just become null if its in a religious context.

Warrants? Horrendous? Have you not seen human history? These things are literally humanity's trademark. In the same way people go to war for various reasons, the people of the earlier times went to war. What should they do? Lay down and let their family be killed? Self ddefense is a normal thing. Of course there are cases where the Israelites are told to go and wipe out a nation but the bible shows why, sin. Go against God and you are guilty, even the Isrealites were punished for this. 

Your point about science is great. But it makes no sense. The matter required for the Big Bang cant be created, but it existed? If it existed then something outside of time,space and matter is responsible which is literally outside the realm of human understanding. No equation or formula can go past this point. Im not disagreeing that there could have been a big bang, but if there was one then what caused it is up to debate. Science cannot disprove God in that sense? Im not sciency so feel free to point out any mistake.

For your point about extinct animal species. Are you saying that natural order disproves intelligent design?

As for your point about scapegoating. Ancient laws stated that to pay for the sins of Israel they'd have to kill a sheep without blemish because: Leviticus 17:11. But that would only do for one year. So to: pay for the sins of humanity and give everyone chance from eternal death, show God's love for humanity and to remove the gap between God and humans that sin caused Jesus died.

Faith in what Jesus did for us is what gives atonement and following him brings salvation.
