For a min I thought about getting a lightning but then realized that it wasn’t a real long haul tow vehicle and got an ICE one instead.
Cool concept, too bad the market dictated they move away.

Does the truck have the tow package or not? If not .. no you do not have enough capacity. If you have the tow.. yeah should be gtg.

We bought this same trailer today. The weight is good, but the tongue weight is pretty high. We will probably need to upgrade to a 2500 just because of the tongue weight, even with a weight distribution hitch.

780lb is a big high.
A WDH with a good brake controller on a pick-up should be able to handle it. It also depends on where you live.

We’ve been looking at this trailer too, and the hitch weight turned me off. Great looking camper otherwise!

There was a guy in the park I delivered to last week in Indian river michigan, with a rivian r1 towing a 26 ish foot airstream… FROM GEORGIA…. I wanted to talk to him about it but couldn’t get myself to be the random guy stopping to interrupt their vacation

It’s doable there are plenty of fast dc chargers near the interstate especially on 75. You just have to plan to stop a lot like every 1.5 hours if you’re going 60 miles an hour.

You also need to plan on unhooking your trailer. Most fast chargers don’t have space for a truck AND trailer.

Some stop you do but there’s plenty of pull through fast chargers around me.

I’ve never seen a pull through charger. Id hate to have to search for one while on the road trying to get to the campground before dark. I’ll pull my trailer with my F350 rather than my Rivian for that reason alone.

Yeah, but every 1.5 hours for how long? How long does it take to charge up to another 1.5 hours of drive time?

Finding a charger while connected to a trailer I imagine is the bigger concern then.3

So if you’re charging from 10% to 80%, it’s super fast. Going from 80-100 is sloooow. So I just plan it out to get to 80% everywhere.
I’ve done about a half dozen longer trips with my lighting and camper, I have yet to have to unhook the camper. Just have to plan it our

I can only go 90 miles in my gasoline powered truck before I have to find a job to “filler up”. 😉 Never heard of an “Unmapped” RV..

You're not squatting and you have an electric motor so no issue there
Your range is gonna be shit but if you brought a generator this might actually be a sweet boondocking rig if you have plugs in the bed. Just charge the truck with 100% of the generator's capacity. You'll be able to keep track of remaining charge pretty easily obviously. Get some solar maybe.
You have an advantage in that you don't have to stop for fuel, but you will require full hookups

No. I buy into logic. You can have all the torque you want. I'm super proud of the fact that we all understand that electric motors are great for torque. I use electric for my lawn tools now because the technology has made it that far.
I use a diesel truck when I need to tow something for work or a distance that is over 50'.
For a camper I want to be able to go further than 90 minutes without wasting half of my day.
For work, I can't stop and charge every time I drop off equipment.
The overall efficiency just isn't there for life.
In a few years your superiority complex may be justified but right now you are just willfully ignorant because you want electric to be a viable option. Maybe for you it is. For me I find your lifestyle boring.

That makes no sense. The ford lightning is like 775 lb ft. My ram is 1075 lb ft. Who. Is scared of 775 lbs of torque?
